If I hold the barrel of the Engstrom knife up I can see through it, but there's not as much to see as with yours. I actually have one of those clear knives with Sabre, Made in China on it. I had another one that I gave to a friend and she lost it at an airport when she forgot to remove it from her purse.___Dave

Bought these at a flea market I set up at for $15.00. The top one a Schrade 835Y Birdseye stockman , Schrade 80T stockman, and a PAL Cutlery horn handled jack knife. The Birdseye stockman has a patched up handle and jack knife has a small worm hole.

Looks like 3 good ones to clean up! I enjoy findin' HOK's like those. Clean 'em up, sharpen 'em and put to use!

I hit the flea mkt today first time this summer slim pickings gut me a short line Camillus electricians knife rusty,and a Marlboro Vic she was locked up tight.Both for cheap money

Western USA Buckmasters Double Knife Set.....

TF, don't know why a 3-1/2" Congress pattern knife would have a serrated blade - guess Camillus thought it would sell a few more knives for them. Might be handy for 550 cord or sisal. I remember when that Western combo was a promo deal Scott - join and get that knife set. OH

Shame the big one has a gut hook blade, otherwise I'd be on that like a duck on a bug.

I don't think much of them gut hooks myself. But the other knife sure looks nice!
For me to be out finding knives I'd have to have money in my pocket with which to be looking.

I for one on deer don't mine a knife with a guthook my Grandpa got me one ( Schrade sharpfinger)for deer hunting and taught me to use it,they really are slick if you lead the hide with a finger

I have three or four of the "regular" length horsehead puukkos, they were one of my early focuses in fixed-blades, which actually started before I ever got into traditional OR modern folders. One of them is part of my EDC rotation but due to the sheath style and general logistics I don't find myself carrying it much outside the home. It is a demon slicer with wicked-sharp carbon steel, however, and it gets a good amount of work as a food slicer, parcel opener and occasional potato peeler.

Is that brown handle bakelite, Scott, or something else? It doesn't look as uniformly-colored as the ones I have, almost subtly mottled, but that could be a trick of the light or the camera.

To be honest, dogg, I'm speaking out of pure ignorance. I don't hunt or dress animals out. It's just the novelty of the thing that seemed so odd on a blade. I will remember that others find it useful.
