Kinda hard to tell from a picture but that looks a bit like Delrin® "stag". How close am I?

I must confess my ignorance of Smith and Sons. This thread is the first I've heard of them.
Except for the Billit Trapper and the Mud Bug, it seems like all fixed blades.

Hey ya learn something every day! First I've ever heard of them too. I like the looks of a few of those fixed blades for sure.... That Cherokee is really handsome, and the Brave looks pretty darn nice too. Their single blade trapper is a real looker as well, but the listed price on that one puts it pretty far out of my price range. While the filework on the spines looks quite nice, not sure if I would like it on a working knife or not.... Glad to see another US maker putting out what looks like some high quality blades

I like the idea of the integral bolster/liner. They aren't shy with their prices. The mudbug is the only thing they sell that is close to my cash wheelhouse. I've read somewhere that GEC has something to do with it. I'll snoop around to see whats up.

"Custom knife maker Smith & Sons Knife Company has done a collaboration with Great Eastern Cutlery to produce the MUDBUG. Smith & Sons had GEC replace the their brass liners with steel liners and reinforce the birdseye pivots! These are like mid-techs, production from GEC, but specs by the custom maker Smith & Sons!! These are incredible pieces, price point beyond crazy!!!"

The Mudbug is made by GEC with S&S specs. Basically it's a lockback #21 with steel liners. It's tang stamp says Smith & Sons. It ships in a Smith & Sons box, not the GEC tube.

This is the whole package.

Something tells me you most likely won't be using it to make any sparks for a fire either.

Right. I have many other knives and tools for that. Now, feather sticks, tent pegs and food prep, not a problem.

I've got a couple Outer's (Remington and Marble's) and a Shapleigh's St. Louis S67 with a very similar blade design. The handle material is very light weight, could it be Bakelite? I should do a little more research on it.

Red, I love those Outers and Remingtons. That's American history right there.
Here's my latest; a Bark River Hudson Bay Trade knife that I along with others help design. It's a mixture of the English and French Trade era knives. The Bark River Hudson Bay Trade Knife is a reproduction of one of the knives made and sold here in North America during the Pioneer/Mountain Man Period. Belt Knives like this were essential and the pattern of this Blade is actually called a Roach Belly. The roots of this pattern show more of the French influence than English and was very popular because it's ability to skin game very quickly and efficiently. The Shallow Saber Grind gave a very sharp edge and still allowed for splitting wood quickly for camp fires. Measures 9.5" overall with a 5.25" A-2 blade. Mine is in Curly Maple with black and white liners. The last photo is a picture Jacquie, Mike's daughter, drew to show that it's mine.

Tank that's a beautiful knife with a great story to go with it.

Here's an interesting stag Scagel fixed/folder hybrid that I just picked up through a contact in AR. It's not exactly something you see all that often...and the stag handle is simply a work of art.
