Nice American Winsted Barlow edge213 ... interesting as most from that company had American Knife Co Winsted as the stamp and not just American Winsted... does that knife have iron liners? Maybe its early on in that company history given the stamp...

And just as an aside to some of the comments above on American Knife Companies - American Knife Thomaston as noted above was previously American Knife Co Plymouth prior to the town changing names in 1875 - just to make things even more confusing .... and there was yet another American Knife Co around the 1970s that was a Japanese/German import using Cole National Corp as a trademark - out of Cleveland I think - and nowhere as collectable as the other American Knife Co knives noted above....

This is probably the oldest knife I have. It was patented in1886 and these silver plated fruit knives were popular in the 1890's. The blade rotates 180 degrees to expose either the ccutting blade or the seed pick. Each tool locks in to place by means of the patented ball and socket swivel.

Great old hawk!!

Honk falls knife. Person who sold it to me said one side of scales were replaced because it was damaged in the factory fire. If its true it puts the date of manufacture at 1929. Either way these honks are not easy to come by. This is a cool pattern in nice shape. Great snap and half stops.

Here's my old American Knife Co.

Nice Joe, they look like twins. I've read some history on Plymouth. They sent many men from the area to fight in the civil war. I could see these knives being relics from that. Very cool knives.

They sure are rare in my neck of the woods. I have seen only two in 25 years of collecting and only bought one. Yours is a nice pattern and looks to be a really nice knife.___Dave

Thank you Dave. I am a member of the Wawarsing museum and helped fill the knife case that displays the honk falls and napanoch knives. Also had a chance a couple months back to go through a private collection of some rare patters. One was a salesman sample unused looked like it just got out of the factory. They made some very fine knives for sure. I also only own two. I have a nap hawkbill to post as soon as I can get some pics.

Here is a NON-XLL Joseph Allen, the stamp on this one was used 1837-1890. Solid old riggers knife.

Age unknown, don't see many Reverse Gunstocks like this one.

This one is definitely old, don't know how rare it is. Found it in an antique store on Marylands Eastern Shore. Miller Bros Barlow, typical old Barlow, well used, no snap on pen, good snap on main and no blade play. Has different tang stamps on the pen and main.

Hey John, that MB Barlow is fantastic! It may have some minor issues but overall what a wonderful find I love those stylistic bolster letters interwoven MB--very attractive. I think it is pretty darn rare. Congratulations!! You sure have a nose for finding great Barlow examples. Lloyd

Received this Walden Knife Co jumbo jack today, large 4 1/16", nice black ebony, full blades, handful of a jack. Don't seem to come across very many Walden's.
