Great lookers both Q, that pattern is new to me and growing on me. Great looking and a short, stout one it looks like. Isn't that about 3 inches closed? Congrats, nice stag snags.

I was up late last night working on my knife collection spread sheet. Before I turned in, I checked my email, looked at my watch list on Ebay, and then decided to have a quick glance at AAPK. One post led me to another and I ended up on this thread. A few minutes ago my dog came out of the bedroom and started telling me in no uncertain terms, that she was hungry. That's when I noticed the sun was up and it's darn near 8 in the morning.
There are sure some beautiful knives in this thread, and if I can remember it, a heck of a lot of information. Before I go lay down for a couple hours, I wanted to post this collection of GEC #64 and #65 lockbacks. I had been looking for the Tidioute #65 in Spring Green jig bone for the last couple years (last knife on the right) and was recently given the chance to buy one. I don't know what you'd call that jigging pattern but I sure do like it. The Northfield isn't a lockback but this is the only pic I have of the Tidioute lockback and I'm not going to start taking new pics before I get a couple hours.

Dweb. That's a pretty amazing collection of kickbacks. This is my piddly 4 kickbacks I have.

Thanks Roger. Remington didn't make a whole lot of lockbacks outside of the bullet knives. That being said the knife on the bottom, R3173, I was very happy to get and still has a good deep etch.

For a long time all I collected were Schrade pre 2004 knives and they still make up the majority of my collection. I display 95%of my collection and to tell the truth, I was bored to tears with brown knives...brown sawcut delrin, brown jigged bone, brown jigged delrin, and stag delrin...and there are no new patterns to be had. I was in a bad work related accident and then had a slew of other health problems show up....chronic pancreatitis, COPD...down to about 20% of my lung functions and a few other things that keep life interesting so it was determined that I was unable to work and put on disability. To occupy my days, I spend an inordinate amount of time on the internet looking for knives and working on my collection. I didn't and still don't collect for investment , but for my own enjoyment. Over the last few years, I've watched the value of my collection decrease with the declining interest in traditional pocket knives. S & M knives opened a whole new world of colors and the excitement of acquiring new releases. GEC provided more choices with the added bonus of increasing in value. My heart will always be with the search for the old jigged bone knives, I love the hunt and the thrill of uncovering a beautiful old pocket worn bone handled knife like those beauties you have, but the kid in me that likes bright shiny things will keep me going back for more Schatt's, and GEC's as well. If I took my display to a show, there would be some interest in them... but those 4 Remington's of yours would far out shine mine. Piddly...I think your were poking a little fun at those shiny knives of mine...Maybe one day I'll see you at a show, I think I'd like buy you a beer and talk about some piddly Schrades I have.

Here's a few i have acquired since my last visit here. Not sure if the Sidewinder actually qualifies since the locking mechanism is in the sheild.

This Frost Smooth White Bone Lock Back may have been very inexpensive, but that doesn't mean it's 'cheap'; there's really nothing about it I don't like. A very solid, functional little knife.

My favorite lockback. Very old genuine stag Jack Knife Ben from Union Stock Yards in Chicago.

Fabulous banana trapper. JKB, who do you think made this one? And who do you think made most of his knives? I know that Schrade made some, but that is all I know.

I am pretty sure this lockback was made by NAPANOCH in the 1900's or Winchester in the early 1910's.
