Hit the flea markets Sunday. Very slim pickins, but I got this old dog for $2.

This knife screams for some ebony.

Last time I went to the big flea market I didn't do too well but it was not a complete dry run.
I call myself collecting old, small meat grinders, always looking for one made with the WINCHESTER trade mark on it. I did find one with the E.C. Simmons Keen Kutter mark.
Found a little Western 658 that's okay, the clip is used up but the spay and sheep foot look almost untouched. It took a great edge after I got a small nick out of the blade near the tip and all 3 blades still walk and talk.
I asked another guy if he had any old knives laid back out of sight and he said only two, not much to either of them. One was a Colonial stainless fork, pretty rough but I had never seen one, I got it for a couple of bucks and the guy said to take the other prize too. It is some kind of a hawkbill el-cheapo, rusted with one of it's stainless steel bolsters missing. Looks like a candidate for next year's POS Roundtable.

Knice haul Philip!!!

Good haul Philip. At the big swap day I went to today I saw a huge L.F.&C. grinder with all the pieces, a handle, and a pulley to hook it to a motor. I didn't ask the price, but it was a nice one.

I did pick up this Sheffield machete though. And a fence stretcher.

That machete looks great Wade. Saw back on that? And you have the sheath too! Sweet.

Steve I see what you're talking about in the pic. I don't know why it turned out that way. It doesn't have a saw back. But it sure takes a good edge.

I'd love to find a machete of that quality Wade. And the canvas sheath to go with.

Thanks Steve. I'm not up on my machete values. It I figured it was worth the $15 I paid for it.

A machete's value = directly proportional to the amount of nasty **** it can cut through.

Nice pick ups bighomer. And the RR looks unused.

It is QS and the fit & finish is amazing for a knife that cost 10 bucks. The old Eye is in great shape the snap is unbelievable, I got 15 in it.

We made a few laps around the Webster Florida flea market today. It's only open on Mondays. In cool weather there must be a ton of vendors, as I heard one man say in October there are sometimes 1200 vendors! We got there around 8am and Miss Joy got hot around 10am, so it was time to go.
I saw a lot of knives, some way over priced, lots of China junk and then some that were just right.
Here's the list I ended up with and a picture to prove it.
Chicago Cutlery P10 wooden handles.
PAL Cutlery Co. scout/camp this one has never been used, just sat and started to rust, it should clean up.
PAL serpentine jack bone handles. It appears to have maybe been with an outgassing knife as the bolsters have that copper look.
Western stainless W658
L.F.&C. USA 1st one of this brand for me and it is the worst condition for today's finds but at least I now own a Landers, Frary and Clark.

Schrade USA 194OT, hasn't been sharpened
Case XX 231-7" butcher knife that needs some work, but hey, for 50 cents can't go wrong!
