Zed, what is the giant stockman up top?
It's stamped C.K but as fair as I can find out these was made by Italian company G.C co ,It's overall 9inches I guess it's as big as a Schrade lumber Jack
Here it is next to a standard sized sabre Barlow that I 're handled

the coin is a large 1977 jubilee coin .
That stockman is really cool. Nice rehandle job on the barlow.

Charlie when I saw you the poster I was already thinking 'another beautiful canoe'. You surprised me and what a beautiful surprise. I know a picture is worth a thousand words but throw in a few words and tell us about this awesome knife.

It's the Cold Steel replica of an 1849 U.S. Army rifleman's knife. OAL is 17 3/4" and it weighs 2 3/4 lbs. The handle is rosewood and the blade is hand forged 1085 high carbon steel. It comes with scabbard and belt frog. It's massive!

I did a little more research. From what I've read the Model 1849 Rifleman's Knife has the distinction of being the first knife officially designed and purchased by the U.S. Army and was procured as a special weapon for the U.S. Regiment of Mounted Riflemen who were armed with Colt Dragoon revolvers and U.S. Model 1841 rifles but did not carry sabers. The original made by AMES Manufacturing (pictured below) is very rare, only 1000 were made for and purchased by the U.S. Army. As you can see, the Cold Steel replica is a pretty faithful reproduction.

Thanks Charlie for the additional information. Very interesting. The military got that one right. To find one of the 1000, that would be sweet.

I like the alternative shots. And find the color of the stag to be quite nice.
