I think this year was the furthest shot on a deer I’ve had in a while at 90yards only because it was on the edge of a clear cut.

Ken, that’s great! But I agree, -17° ain’t shooting weather. Heck, I have a couple I need to sight in, but it’s too cold here at the mid 30s!

It’s supposed to be 54° here tomorrow. That’ll be about right for some trigger time.

However, I had 3 failures to completely cycle, I had to manually push the bolt closed on those 3.
Does the gun just need to be broke in? Maybe, but I'll never know. I wont own a firearm that I don't completely trust.

I suggest feeding the beast different ammo(s) before giving up on it.
Give it a good clean and lube, too.
Also, it might be difficult to not limp-wrist something of that size (I know I would!)

I decided to give it another try with some different ammo this coming weekend. If it doesn't work out, I may check out a new Anaconda.

Very nice. I’m a 22 nut myself, although I’ve traded off most of mine. I’m just left with a Marlin 80E, a Ruger 10-22, and a Marlin 39M. I dearly love shooting 22s.
