I picked up another A.G. Russell Japanese made knife this weekend. I had forgotten all about this one. I think I saw it in the catalog many years ago. It’s a very light weight and slim knife. There are just some knives that when you pick them up you just want to put it in your pocket and this is one of those.
The blade is ATS-34 so it’s a high quality steel in the blade. The handles are probably G-10 or some kind of Kydex, very light and strong. No nail nick but it’s easy to open with a pinch. Going into what is getting to be a large A.G. Russell Japanese collection of mine.

Great knife, Mark, very nice indeed. I see some real nice AGR products at CuttingEdge.com, most are used but still in mint condition, and if I'm remembering correctly I saw a copy of yours at one time.

Lots of appeal in your AGR acquisition. The blade, the handle, the lightweight: it is the whole package.

Thank you Mark and Garry. So tempted to carry this one, but I need another EDC like a hole in the head. Wish I could find an old AGR catalog with this in it, I would like to get more of the story on it than I am remembering. Pretty sure that AGR designed this himself with a specific purpose in mind, but can’t recall it now.

IMO, I would think comfort in the pocket, along with ease of use would have been in AGR's thoughts during design, Mark, and looks of course.

Another AG Russell Japanese knife to add to the collection. Full tapered tang construction with a black liner. Damascus blade and quince burl wood scales. Feels just right in hand. I would love to use this knife, but I don’t need another knife to use. Have way too many sitting around the house now as it is.

Thanks Tony. That is an elegant knife. I have one of each of the Paragon fixed blades that were made in Japan. You don’t find these often anymore, surprised you would find it at a flea market. I believe A.G. Russell offered those in his catalog back when they were new. Nice find.

Thanks Mark! There is a guy with a booth at this flea market weekly, that sells quality knives, no junk. Have bought several from him. Never know what he may have from week to week. This is my first Paragon, but definitely will not be the last.

Bought this A.G. Russell Jess Horn designed Seki Japan made knife. I bought one from Roland back in 2019 and sold it to share the profit with Roland. Wish I had kept it ever since. Don’t know which company in Japan made this for AG but they did a great job. Look at the run up, which is almost seamless. Centers great and the blade design is beautiful. Handle is made of black Micarta. No liner and a big fish eye pivot pin. It’s a nice knife.

Nice indeed Mark ... I likes that one ... it has the Look !! I have gotten to the point that when seeing a bunch of knives together, I know which ones are Seki Japan ... they just have a different Look.

Very nice, Tony, although, I'd seen your Paragon skinner prior to this post in Mark's store about 3 years ago. I was buying this Paragon boot dagger designed by Tommy Lee, and they were side by side in his listings and I was trying to decide which to buy. At least that's how I'm remembering how I got it, but if Mark remembers the events differently I hope he'll chime in so my Alzheimer's secret remains intact. Now, what was I just talking about?

Mine is configured much the same as yours, made in Seki-Japan / 8" oal / 4 1/2" dagger ground dual-edged blade /full tang / 4 pin shiny micarta covers / dovetailed NS bolsters / and a boot-clip sheath.
The hand backdrop is courtesy of Madmarco a highly renowned hand model. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!

That's a wonderful knife, Mark, covers all the bases for me. I see J/H knives at ArizonaCK everyday, and he makes some beautiful knives. I bit rich for my pocketbook, but should I ever win the lottery.....

Thank you Mark. Yes I have had all the fixed blades that Paragon made in my store at one time or another. I bought out all that one seller had of one model, the Carolina skinner, so I had several of those. These are getting harder and harder to get all the time. I have two or three of the daggers in my collection. One has custom burl wood scales on it that Muskrat Man put on them. It was an unfinished knife that I picked up. There use to be several of these unfinished daggers for sale at one time, but I haven’t seen one up for sale in over 5 years. I will have to let Tony know if I come across more or decide to sell any of mine.

I thought I'd share these Seki made knives with ya'll, but I have completely lost track of what I've posted and what I haven't, so if you've already seen 1 or more my apologies go out to you.

My copy of the 7 1/2" Paragon lock-back that Mark posted recently, and also I bought this copy from him, but no front etch so not first production.

An Al Mar 6 3/4" mid-lock designed by Ron Lake.

A rock solid all-metal 6 1/2" SOG mid-lock.

An A.G. Russell 5 3/4" all-metal lock-back.

And this last one actually has a name, that being, "The Ant", and it too is an all-metal 6" liner-lock that works by pressing on the SS ball in order to depress the liner inside and release for closing.
