Well the Ponder Post Rider delivered the Congress knife today. Now I have 3 more coming and I need to find the last 2.

I got my trapper last week it's a beautiful knife and functions well.joeradza wrote: ↑Mon Aug 24, 2020 5:36 pm I just received the latest Rough Ryder knife. They're calling it an Upswept Bow Trapper and now that it's in hand I can say it reminds me of a slimmer saddlehorn. Here are the typical specs everyone wants to know. It's 3 7/8" closed. The blade is centered and sharp. All transitions are smooth. It has a half stop and the backspring is flush when open and closed and just slightly proud at half stop. The pull is softer than their swayback, I'd say about a 5. The closing talk is a satisfactory 'snap.' I'm not a big fan of the matchstrike nail nick but it does help make the blade pinchable. Oh, the red G-10 underliner is nice. I think the lanyard tube is narrower than normal if that matters to you
Thank you.Beavertail wrote: ↑Mon Aug 24, 2020 6:55 pmI got my trapper last week it's a beautiful knife and functions well.joeradza wrote: ↑Mon Aug 24, 2020 5:36 pm I just received the latest Rough Ryder knife. Maybe they'll have a second run of these.jerryd6818 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 24, 2020 8:02 pm You must have bought the last one because it's now out of stock at SMKW (+ none on eBay). A very intriguing pattern. Too bad I slept through the opportunity to get one. Price was certainly right.
Yes, sorry i did not explain myself very well. From some of the comments i have been reading over probably the last 12 months, there seems to be some people who liked the Rough Rider name over the Rough Ryder name.Quick Steel wrote: ↑Tue Aug 25, 2020 12:28 am cudgee, Both are the same company. They just decided to change their spelling. Not sure if you knew that.
Thank you for the compliments Gentlemen
I like it a LOT. It's a really neat little knife, even if it doesn't have any manners. "Never bite the hand that bought you."
Yeah, mine too.TwoFlowersLuggage wrote: ↑Tue Aug 25, 2020 2:20 am I've got the Ram's Horn pen as well - it's one of my favorite RRs.

I’ve been pretty lucky with the handful of Rough Ryders I have. An occasional cosmetic scratch is about the worst I’ve encountered. If you look at my pic I think you can see that the red liners are not the same thickness. Very minor discrepancy.Benton629 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 25, 2020 12:17 pmjoeradza wrote: ↑Mon Aug 24, 2020 5:36 pm I just received the latest Rough Ryder knife. I just got mine yesterday.
Your description accurately mirrors my opinion of this knife. I have some damage in the red G10 scale material but I can easily correct it.
The blade did not snap open to my satisfaction and was a bit loose when I got it. I bonded a tiny metal shim on the end of the spring and it’s all good. Nice blade and very sharp out of the box.
A pretty darn good knife for $12 and my first Rough Ryder. Probably not my last.

If it's coming via USPS, you should get it by Groundhog day.jerryd6818 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 25, 2020 2:36 pmHmmm. I didn't get a notification. $10 is pretty high for shipping a $17 dollar knife.
