Johnnie, that last picture looks like she has a mossberg 835 pump in her hands. i hope you didn't put any 3 1/2 in it..lol

Denny ..your right about the Mossberg...but no,it wasn't 3 1/2 but it was pretty bad....bad enough She didn't want to shoot it agaain!!

JR is it just the camera angle (or maybe just me), or is she holding the buttstock of that shotgun to her left shoulder while she has her right hand on the trigger?

Phil, I'm not Johnnie but she has the buttstock into her right shoulder. That said, I would like to see her weight on her front foot instead of her rear foot and her leaning into the weapon instead of leaning back away from it. I can't tell from the picture but she should also have the butt snug against her shoulder.

OK..first of all you have to understand my Wife...She lived in upstate NY (Elmira) where her family were big hunters (Deer) She always talked about shooting her Fathers Deer rifle and being on the Archery team in High School...me ,being from KY.. we were raised up with a gun in our hand...and we better hit what we were aiming at or we didn't eat.

Back to the pic......I bought or traded for the shotgun and my Wife was all exited because She had never shot one before and asked if She could...of course I said yes....know me being a bit of a prankster (some call it an A-Hole)...I load the gun up and tell Her how to pump a shell up into the breech..She then turns to me and says " I have heard these kick a bit"...I said don't worry Hon..just keep it away from your shoulder an inch or two.

...so that explains Her awkward stance and my black eye!!

Its against her right shoulder....

Not at all....I kissed it and made it better..

.....atleast thats what She fell for.

Actually She thought it was funny too....Her Father had always taught Her to hold a gun firmly to Her shoulder.

She said She was so anxious to shoot it...that I caught Her off guard.

I'm guilty of pranking too Johnny. I used the "put the scope right up against your eye and you won't miss" prank on large caliber magnum rifles. It marks the ones I've pranked.

Shame on us.

The look you get from the people afterwards is priceless.
