Mike, none of the bone handle 72s are all that "common" but the ones like yours are more common 10-1 (that's just a SWAG made up on the spot) than the 1st Generation 72s. It's almost impossible to forecast how much they'll go for when introduced to the market. It's all about condition, condition, condition and timing. With a well written and documented listing that has good pictures of a knife in very good condition, listed this week it could go for $60 - $80. Listed two weeks from now (same listing - same pictures) it could go for $25 - $50. Ya just never know.

Found this neat camillus advertisement piece today....
One side says "Julius Wile Sons & Co Inc, New York, Sole US Agents"
The flip side says "DOM BENEDICTINE, LIQUEUR, 86 proof"

Any ideas as to the age?

I believe that's the 3-line stamp that they occasionally used on very narrow or specialty blades but the font they used looks like most of my 4-liners.

Found these at the estate sale this morning...

I have never before seen a Camillus marking with "Cut. Co." in it.

I believe they abbreviated "Cutlery" only on these odd-ish blades, I see them mostly on advertising knives. It's why I think that might be from the 4-line era, because they were working with an economy of space in both directions.

Here's my haul from the North Star Blade Collectors meeting today. The pearl scissors is marked "Tooth". No other markings. It has two small blades, a pen and a small slightly curved blade like a small Wharncliff. I'd love to know anything about this knife/scissors such as country of origion or age. The larger pearl pen is a Henry Sears, 1865. Made in USA, The small pearl pen is a Henry Sears, Prussia, Both pearl pens are near mint condition. The Ivory is a Mappin and Webb, Sheffield and is the only one I picked up today with any wear and is missing a small piece of the back scale, The bone one is a Schrade Cut. Co. and is in awesome condition. The metal tool is a 1920's era folding screwdriver with a Prest-O-Lite adjusting hole. I bought the bundle for a whopping $80.____Dave

That Schrade has some of the sweetest Rogers bone I've ever laid eyes on, and it looks like it rolled out of the factory last week.

Is that Prest-o-Lite tool an old Marbles?

Heck of a deal, that's a bundle of gems. The scrade alone would probably go close to or more than $80 on ebay.

Thanks yeah. The Schrade was the most expensive of the group and probably the nicest condition although the two pearls don't appear to have been sharpened. The Marbles tool was made in two sizes. This is the larger and more common made between 1913 and 1924. The smaller one was made from 1913 to 1918. The middle blade on t mine was profiled into a knife blade by someone. It's suppose to be another screwdriver blade. I'm reading this out of the Marbles Encyclopedia. I'd never seen one of these before and according to their price guide, I did well even with the blade messed up. Sometimes pure dumb luck is all we need. ___Dave.....edit.I just realized I forgot to add the cost of the Schrade to what I paid for the other knives that I bought from another dealer so it wasn't quite as cheap as I thought, but still a successful day at the meeting.

I wanted to be first in line (ended up there were about 50 in line when it opened at 9:00) so I was there
at 5:50 am.

I wanted a knife with a sheath stamped USN. Come to find out the owner's sister took the knife back, said it was a gift
she gave to her nephew.....so it was gone. It was a downsizing estate sale, and actually got to talk to the owner of the
residence before hand who informed me the knife was taken back by her sister......

Anyhow, one of my fellow pickers showed me her knives she had accumulated and was planning to sell at the Webster Flea Market.
I offered her a price for the whole bag of 9....she accepted.

The CASE congress is gorgeous as is the little MOP knife, BUT the main blade on the congress has 0, zilch, nah-dah snap.....Of course, just my luck.....

I'm shocked.....no interest on the 2 Case knives....WOW.

We took a flea brake while lake house hunting and came away with a Camillus long line electricians knife,a little Hammer brand camper and a Uncle Mikes pocket holster all for seven bucks

An even dozen from the Badger show and I'm broke and tired after 14 hours in the car in two days going to and back home from the show. Can't wait until next year. At twelve o'clock is an IXL stag lockback hunter, below that is an IXL hawkbill. The little celluloid is a Catt. The cattle knife is a gorgeous bone Lakeside Cut. The stag jack is a Washington Cutlery that the dealer I bought it from got it from Mark Zeleski, the pearl pen with opposing blades both opened fully is a Simmons Keen Kutter, The pearl with the tip bolsters is a Challange with an etched master blade still readable, the pearl jack is a Valley Forge. All the pearls have crack free fiery scales and near full blades, The small hawkbill is a Ulster, the Large liner-lock is a Kinfolks made by Robeson and is what we believe is a salesman sample as the two scales are identical (same jigging) except one is Robeson Red and the other is honey brown. It could be a lunch box special but doesn't appear to have been messed with after leaving the factory. The farmers jack is a Schrade Cut. Co. The Ebony jack is a Kelly Howell Thomson "Hickory" from my own neck of the woods and probably made by Napanoch.____Dave
