To those of you who shoot the AR, are the all plastic mags such as the Magpul reliable and durable?

I love magpul P mags. When I had my AR that’s all I used.

I've never had a problem.
All my buddies use them also.

I prefer the plastic mags myself.

My AR magazines are all Magpul P mags. Never had an issue with any of them.

I have always used metal mags in the past, but the Magpuls are cheap and I was wanting to see what people's experiences were with them. The concern was whether the plastic feed lips wear out faster by the brass cartridge rims sliding against the plastic versus metal mags.

Take a look at these from Lancer: https://lancer-systems.com/product/l5awm-30-magazine/ I call them a “hybrid” magazine because they are polymer magazines but have metal feed lips. This brings the best of both worlds together with the lightweight polymer magazines and the reliability of metal feed lips. ::handshake::

Anymore they make some pretty tough plastic and you're going to have to put a whole lot of rounds through them to ware one out. I got rid of all my metal mags once I started using plastic mags. Not saying they are better, just my choice.

Well, the weather, a day off, and my social calendar all lined up positive for a day at the range. First time this year, about 6 months since last time.

Henry Frontier .22LR, Uberti El Patron SA .357, homemade (by my grandfather, I believe) fixed blade.

I have been reading about and checking out cz75's for a couple years now. Last week I stopped in a local gun shop and they actually had quite a few, different models including a very nice Turkish made match gun.
Yesterday I was sitting in the Walmart parking lot waiting for an elderly friend to do her shopping. I was watching the normal freak show when I realized I had left the house without my usual concealed carry 380. I suddenly felt like I wasn’t wearing any pants.
As soon as my friend came out I headed the mile or so back to the gun store and bought this CZ 75 B and a couple boxes of cartridges. I have a NICS Exempt endorsement on my concealed carry permit so it was a fairly quick process.
I really like the feel of the pistol and will try to get in some range time this afternoon.

Ken, congratulations. The CZ is by all accounts a superior firearm. I was looking at one about 2 weeks ago. It is obviously a quality piece but I couldn't manage the cost. Maybe someday.

Excellent! I find myself drawn to the CZ 75 every time I contemplate the purchase of a semi-auto handgun.

Hi Old Mate Grant, we had a pack of dogs killing the goats and sheep in the area.
My 12 gauge my Mother gave me for my 14th. birthday, is the best for varmint.
It will kill anything at 200 yards... Ken
