, but I do like the blue. It will be for me a collector knife only, so being 3/8 shorter won't matter. Thanks!

Your 2 are also very nice, Tony, especially the Browning, I'm a sucker for shiny.

Yes, I know, Tony, I bought a large blue lapis, and, a large barbed-wire as soon as they were available from Mark, plus I have a couple of other Moki and G. Sakai models.
Mark pointed out how tight and clean the "run-up" (where the tang meets the spring) is, and ever since that's one of the first features I look for when buying a new knife. They don't get much better than Moki's, IMO!

Here's a little (3¼" closed) made in Japan AG Russell Black Lip Pearl Mediterranean Barlow that has an interesting scale lock. Technically, I think it should be called a "bolster lock" since it's the bolster that contains the locking mechanism. It could also be called a "scale release" since the lock is released by pressing down on the tail end of the scale.

But, call it what you will, I think it's a pretty cool little knife.

Another nice addition Q. I picked up one of those myself recently also added the red jigged bone version with the scrolled bolsters. I like this pattern that A.G. Russell came up with.

QT, the lines/shape of that knife are tasteful and refined looking, open or closed ... Nice!

Tony that is one I’ve admired for a long time as well. Never pulled the trigger on one, but most likely will some day. It is a beautiful and well designed dagger. Congrats!

Thank you Mark! My focus has been on the quality knifemakers from Japan lately. Not meaning to take anything away from US makers or other countries, but the designs together with the quality of these knives are unique. Yep, I am hooked ... more are on the way!

I thought it was a bolster lock, too, Mark (I used to own one). But, unless I'm not seeing it correctly, it looks like chickenman62's is actually a liner lock.

Pretty sure it’s a bolster lock on that. I’ve had a few and haven’t seen one made in Japan yet that had a liner lock on it. A liner lock would be below the bolster and that one is positioned too high and right at the bolster.

That little tab by the bolster is what I thought looked like a liner lock push release tab. I’m probably thinking of those Parker/Schrade Mink Trappers or a Moore Maker.

Yes, I had forgotten that the bolster lock on an AG Russell Toothpick stuck up like that.

I found these archive pics of the one I used to own. Interestingly, the bolster is attached to the liner which moves in much the same way as what is commonly called a liner lock.
