John that is a nice looking canoe you have there. Is there something engraved on the front bolster or is that my dirty computer screen?

Scott, I try not to see those old vines. Once they get started almost impossible to get rid of. And yes they bite. I saw them> ::td::

Scott I'd be very interested to know what your thoughts are on that CIMA-1 knife after you've used it a bit. It sure does look a lot like the ESEE knives. I've got an ESEE 4 that I'm quite fond of. The CIMA-1 looks like it may be more comparable size wise to the ESEE 3.

Will do.
I bought it because it looks like an ESEE 4 and you know......I've been wanting one, but can part with that kind of money, so I stumbled upon
this CIMA for $27.00 shipped and said I'll give 'er a go!! ::tu::

Scott, are you familiar with the vines in your pictures, the ones Floyd mentioned on the 1st post on this page? If not look up Smilax or green briar and you'll find they are edible in several stages of growth, roots, leaves and the fresher green tips of the vines.

Philip, that is the first time I ever heard anyone say something knice about those things. I don't think I'll try them.

Floyd, they are a real plague around our place and the roots are hard to dig up. They look like voodoo dolls. ::uc:: There is another local name for the Smilax plant, "cat claw", very appropriate!

Great looking pic John. Looks like it could be a jig saw puzzle when you start out looking for the straight pieces. Very cool. ::nod:: ::tu::

Thanks you sir.

PS - Wish you would have "quoted" this so I would have seen it earlier, I don't normally scroll back through threads just for the hell of it.
