Phil,
I feel your pain. It is never easy to let go of our canine companions. If only they could stay with us a little longer. My sympathies.

Phil, sorry to hear about your loss! I can relate, my wife and I had a pug from 9 weeks old to 12 years. I bought the dog for my wife and it ended up being my dog and my constant shadow. Like your dog she had to have bladder stone surgery 3 times and when they came back for the fourth time, the vet didn't feel like she was up for the surgery and that was it! Needless to say since your dog is a member of your immediate family you will do just about anything to save them. So I did but I got to say here in California the cost of those bladder surgeries was a small fortune.

Phil, my heart is heavy for you. We really get attached to our pets. The best thing you can do is to get back on the horse and find a new pup that is in need of rescue.

Thank you each and every one for your kind words. Rest assured I'm not without a dog. Right now I've got Rudy, a little Shi Tsu that someone dropped near here about 2 1/2 years back. She's spoiled rotten and growls at me (not very menicingly) when I don't give her a milk bone in a timely manner. I've also got two outside dogs, Cletus and Foxy. Where I live there's a stretch of road where there are no houses and where you can't be seen from the main highway. It's a popular place for those who want to drop an unwanted dog (How anyone could do that is beyond my understanding.) All three of the dogs I have now as well as Bud, the one I just had euthanized, were dropped on that stretch of road and brought here to stay. My wife and I have been married for 33 years and we've not spent one day of that time without at least one dog and sometimes as many as a half dozen, all at the same time. I'm a dog man and always have been.
I've lived long enough to know time heals. But it sure helps to be able to share with some good men who understand. Thank all of you.

My deepest & most sincere condolences Phil.
My #1 sidekick, Sadie, looks all grown up now. Maybe just a lil bit of pup left in her.

Sadie is a pretty and intelligent looking girl.
I know most all of you use your own natural treats for your dogs, but just in case: Once again treats imported
from China are sickening pets. PETCO recently announced they are pulling all such treats from their shelves.
A complicating factor is that even "Made in America" treats may contain imported ingredients.

Sorry to hear about that Phil.
Out Lhasas are getting up I age, two are 8 and one is 10 years old.
We had a rescue Lhasa that we had to have put down a couple years ago.
It sure is a sad thing when it has to happen.
God bless you my brother.
