It could be as old as 1974 production, that was the 1st year of the 2 screw(pin) version. Almost looks like paint on bare metal? I have an older (1965) .357 Blackhawk and it looks nothing like that.

FWIW, from what I’ve read, the investment casting process that Ruger uses makes a super strong gun, but it won’t take bluing like milled steel. So unless it’s stainless, I’ve read that all Ruger finishes are some kind of “painted” on kind of deal.

If y’all know different please let me know.

What you are talking about is the aluminum alloy frame Rugers including the old 22 single actions and the new Wrangler. They refer to that as Ceramcoat. It does look like and actually is painted on. I have owned many blued Rugers since the early 1970s and all of them were blued steel just like all the other makers. The 44 in the picture looks weird, kind of like a homebrew refinish job.

I’m thinking of taking all my lever actions to this guy’s house. I’ll make him a deal.

I’ve got 4 336’s (2 30-30s and 2 .35 Remingtons) I’ll take that for all 4 and throw in a mutt puppy. Now how could anybody resist. Deal like that?

Don’t let anybody talk you out of those 336’s The valuable ones are the JM stamped made prior to Remington ownership of Marlin. Yes, the $10,000 was crazy but many sell for $2000+. Had a customer pickup a .35Rem that he bought on Gunbroker for $2500 and he was very happy to get it.
If you want to cash in on them, now is the time.

Not only are all mine JM stamped (Remlins need not apply) they’re all presafety.

35 Rem is what i deer hunt with! I have a minty 1957 SC that is my primary gun and lat fall I bought a 1952 waffle top with the perch belly forearm of gunbroker for $790 something delivered and transferred. From November to today they have sky rocketed!

I’m a bit surprised at the prices of the 336 models. The 1894 pistol caliber carbines have traditionally been the ones that bring the most money.

I couldn’t find a pic of my 1894c 357 or one of my 30-30s, but here are the pics I could find. I have a bit of a Marlin lever gun addiction. I’m glad i got these before the spike!

Chris in bought the 357 at an estate auction several years ago and the 44 I’ve been looking for for 7-8 years with no luck. Then a couple months ago I went to a gun show and there it was. I actually took a couple of things to sell and was able to get this one with the proceeds.

They’re out there. It just may take a long time to find it.

I rarely open this thread but I got a new form fitted holster and spare mag holder delivered today
and I thought I would post a picture. It fits my Taurus TH9 & TH9C. When I ordered it the 1st of
February I didn't know it was made and shipped from Slovakia. When it was shipped UPS it took
2 1/2 days to get to Dallas, TX but it then took 4 days local just to get delivered to me and I'm
sitting 2 blocks north of the Dallas city limits. It is really stiff right now but I know it will loosen
up with time. Other than good ole saddle soap does anyone recommend any other product to
soften the leather up some like we use to do to our baseball gloves or should I just leave it alone?
