Thank you sir. Here where I hunt, most of my deer are taken within 50 yards and in the woods or along the tree line. So this one ought to do the job I reckon.

Now if I can just convince my sons to let me use it.

Any Biathlon fans out there? I consider myself fortunate to have watched Olé compete, he is the King 👑.

Well, I’ve once again succumbed to the siren song of a new toy. My lgs had this new in the box CZ 75 compact. I’ve long wanted a CZ 75 but they’re scarce as hen’s teeth here. So yesterday I had them set it back for me, and today I went back down there.

I had accumulated some ammo and various gun parts and pieces over the years that I don’t need, so I boxed it all up and took it down there to work a partial trade. By the time we were done They gave me the CZ, three boxes of 9mm, and $25 for my stuff!!! Good day for sure.

Here she is, all steel, 3” barrel, balances like a dream and almost no recoil. It’s fun for sure.

Congratulations Colonel, That is a very fine looking pistol. Over the years I have heard all kinds of good things about the CZ 75. Please give us a review once you spend some time with it.

My middle boy and I took it out in the pasture and tried it out on some plastic battles.it shoots great! Very accurate, comfortable, and almost no recoil. It's like shooting a loud BB gun.

I too have read a lot of good stuff about the CZ 75 but have never had my hands on one. Sounds like a winner!

I got a new toy too. Springfield Ronin Emp 3”, 9mm.
Basically a 1911 that has shrunk. Quick range trip yesterday was good. I’m a life-long revolver shooter and have a terrible time with most semi-autos. Striker fired are a hard pass for me. Liked it well enough that I ordered 2 more magazines for it. Need to figure out my grip on it, crazy thing was I shot it better rapid fire than when I tried to aim each shot. Great trigger, short pull and reset.
A learning process for this old gal!

Nice!! I carry a commander size Ruger 1911 every day. Hard to go wrong with a good 1911. I bet that one of yours is a hoot to shoot.

But you’re right, the grip is a might different from a revolver. One of the best tips I got was to make sure the beaver tail is likes up with your arm bones. It’ll feel odd at first, but it works.

I've always preferred the shorter Commander size 1911s. Their balance works much better for me.

Picked up this Sears marked Springfield, supposedly made by Winchester yesterday.(I bought it yesterday, it wasn't made yesterday) I just loved the stock. I really didn't need another 30-06 as I seldom use them for hunting.____Dave

I’ll try your tip about grip next range trip.
The Springfield is available in 3 and 4 inch.
Deciding on the 3” was based on my revolver shooting. I have a S&W model 66 in both 2 1/2 and 4 inch. Both no dash. I shoot the 2 1/2 inch as well or better than the 4 inch.

Wow, Dave! That's a fine-looking rifle.
I was always a bit spooked years ago when someone wanted to trade me a Sears, J.C.Higgins, Revelation, etc. gun. I only wanted name brands, then I found out they were all made by the mainline mfg. of the day. ::doh::
I was looking for something on the one you have pictured and there is a note that some were made by Springfield Armory, then I saw this, it looks just like yours:

One of the firearms value books has a cross reference section for the store brands to actual manufacturer. I think it is the Blue Book.

That’s kinda strange on the Ruger finish, looks like rode hard and put up wet. Obviously the finish on the frame is different than the barrel. How old a gun is it?
