Russian NKVD knife.
Beautiful fixed blade, ken, did you purchase it from an online Russian site or domestically, if you don't mind me asking?
These are the 9" manual and 11" automatic versions of your knife. Both were bought online domestically, and don't have quite the same look as yours, which the more I look at it looks like the very high quality and expensive knives the Russian sites make/sell.

EDIT: I apologize for posting folding knives in a fixed blade thread, I was just trying to show ken these knives, and didn't realize where I was showing them until I'd finished.
Got it from Ali Express
Oh, I didn't mention sites like Ali cuz I didn't figure you for someone who buys from them.

That answers my question, and I'm glad you didn't overpay for it, cuz had you got it from an actual Russian site it would have been expensive. It's a really cool knife wherever it came from!

I bought it from guy in Canada who listed it as mint, new old stock. The tang stamp is Bear MGC but the box is Bear & Son. The label on the end of the box states 12" Bowie Rams Horn. So I figure it was a factory offering. I believe it was made in the 90s.

Sas,

... I suppose for liability purposes you must have to post something around your knife collection, just as a "fair warning" to would-be violators....
I've been pretty happy with this Buck, it makes a great camp-knife

Have you seen my only "custom" knife, Tony? The reason I liked it is because it had a bit of a Loveless look. It was made by a fine maker
here in Ga. named Larry McEachern. It's a real beauty!

I've heard of that maker before, Kerry,

but this is the 1st knife of his I've viewed, what have I been missing!

I definitely see the Loveless aspect, too! A real stunner, buddy!

Wow Kerry. that is a Beauty!

A Loveless style knife to me is near perfect in size and shape for use, as well as looking good.
I like the blade's belly, and the mosaic adds to it's beauty. What are the handles made of?
