Thanks D.L. I think it was mainly designed as a "tactical" knife*, the spear like blade shape lends itself to be a fighting knife some might say....

The Microtech Crosshair is a multi-purpose knife designed for both tactical and survival purposes. It features an aggressive double-edged S30V stainless spear-point plain edge blade and weighs 14.4 ounces. The Crosshair is a variant of the Currahee, originally designed for U.S. Special Forces Boat Team 20.

The Strider wrap is tight and secure when wet. I have put it through some heavy use, but the factory did a very good job on the wrap. I have had cords start to come loose over time, I find that some epoxy glue applied on the ends will help to prevent that.

This Buck didn't get much of a welcome by the knife buying public. The Buck 101 was supposed to be a fixed blade version of their iconic 110. As far as I know it was discontinued shortly after its introduction.

I think I know why it didn't catch on. The 101 is exactly the dimensions of a 110 locked open which led most people (I think) to say why carry a 101 when a 110 is more compact, easier to carry, and basically the same knife when locked open. Pictured below is probably my favorite Buck fixed blade carry, the 192 Vanguard. Great all purpose knife.

Sas, I agree with you on the 101 and on the 192 Vanguard, Great all purpose knife. I have one and sometimes I just pick it up to feel it in my hand...🖐 even there ain't nutt'en to cut with it....
