Looks like S&W wised up.
They are getting as far away from the socialist stronghold as possible.

I guess Remington got caught too early with their pants down to try a better business location solution to their legal issues, which I think was a total crock of horse doo-doo.
Colt was bought out by the Czechs, Winchester by the Chinese, not sure who would still be left in Taxachusetts?

Winchester is owned by the Olin Corp, which is an American company, and what they still make is being made by Miroku in Japan or by FN in Herstal Belgium. Many other things with the Winchester name on them are made in China.

Thanks for the clarification, I thought I heard/read a Chinese company bought them out lock stock and barrel.

To cabbage onto what you said, I’ll add my own humble opinion. We all know that FN products are normally very nice indeed. But I can also say anything I’ve owned, shot, or handled made by Miroku was top shelf in the quality department also. Among many other brands and models, Miroku makes the Browning BPS.
I don’t know of any other pump shotgun currently made that has the attention to mechanical and cosmetic quality as the BPS. Fit and finish are outstanding and they need no break in to be smooth as glass and glide like they’re on well oiled rails.

Right you are, I have a Miroku made Browning BL22 of recent manufacture that is top drawer quality wise. I should also have added that Winchester ammunition is still made in the USA in multiple locations.

What did I do? I bought this Savage Arms Corp. Chicopee Falls 22 pump for $250 at a gun show and can't find it in my gun books or on line. It looks like a Stevens model pump. Is it one that Savage kept making after they took over Stevens. Is it a common gun and I'm just looking in the wrong place. I don't know guns beyond what I like at the time I see one and it's cheap enough to take a chance on. Sorry about the crappy pictures. There is a number on the trigger guard of J 681 if that means anything.____Dave

Dave, it appears you have bought a Visible Loading Repeater, #70 designed by Joshua Stevens. Have to check the connection between Stevens and Savage as they combined some where back then. These rifle were made between 1907 and 1934 according to my limited research. Was tough to find this one.
Here's a youtube video that is a bit long, about a half hour, dry but does explain the way the rifle functions. There are several more videos that come up showing the #70 Visible Loading Repeater.

Thanks Phil. I don't know how you dug this info up. I struck out with the limited information I have . I shot it this morning and it needs a lot of cleaning and probably some tinkering from a gunsmith.____Dave

Nice old gallery rifle.

If you hold the trigger in, will it still fire with each pump? That's something I've often wondered about these.

The shells aren't ejecting right, so probably not with this gun. It definitely has some issues that weren't apparent when I bought it but I'll get it fixed. I'm still glad I bought it. I'm really glad I didn't over spend buying it. I'll try that trick when I get it fixed and let you know.____Dave

Those are also known as Miserable Loaders by those with experience with them. A neat mechanism to watch operate as the cartridge cycles up to the chamber. Originally made and sold by Stevens. I didn't know Savage put their name on them too. Savage bought Stevens in 1920 I think.
dj if you are having issues with this, go to rimfire central. Join if you have to and search posts by Sav22 on the topic of Visisble Loaders. Maybe others as knowledgeable he would be my first choice.

Gdogg, do y’all still shoot this one? I watched a video on those #70’s and the way it loads is really unique. Glad you have such a great keepsake!

I wasn’t fortunate to inherit any family firearms, only one I remember was a bolt action single shot .22 that my oldest nephew got. So I bought my own
Winchester Model 06 22 pump. Looks and shoots like a new gun and is nearly 100 years old

Boji, that is a good looking rifle!
I love old Winchester pumps. My ‘06 is a wreck, my 90 isn’t much better but there is a model 62 that is almost mint.

I have an old 62A that I got for my 15th or 16th birthday.
It has been my go-to for almost any kind of varmint since the day I got it.

The medallion is North American Hunting Club. Had to have been added much later. The gun in 1924 and the medallion dates to about 1980.

Nice, Boji. These have caught my eye recently, I like the pop up barrel loading vs. racking the slide feature.
