Another one I neglected to show earlier...

My most used knife. I received it as a gift in 1978 and proceeded to carry it in the field for big game field dressing duty for over 20 years. Earlier this year I took pity on it and spiffed it up a bit... It's my Western S-532 lock back.

That's a neat knife Dave. I bought my S-533 in Grande Prairie, Alberta in 1979. Back then i preferred a clip over a spearpoint blade.

That ol'Western 532 never let me down. It rode countless hours/days on my belt and has had plenty of game animal blood on it.

If I'm seeing your picture correctly, it looks like there is a "B" on the lower right of the tang stamp... that would indicate it was made in 1978.

Yes, there is a "B". I had thought that the letters were placed at the end of the pattern number where as this "B" is on it's own at tang base near spine.
So, made in ' 78 and bought in ' 79. I can remember the year bought as it was a gift to myself in honor of my son's birth.

Moki Glory

Ohhhhh, sometime before I die I hope to own a Moki. Beautiful and flawless cutlery.

Amen Philco, flawless is right, and I have paid a lot more for other knives that are not nearly as well built. IMO. Sixty something shipped and never a regret later it's still one of my favorites. I think they're a great value for the price.

Be careful buying Moki on line esp. if price seems like a great deal. There are knock-off copies being made of some of the Moki patterns. I have read that the best way to know is to compare with a known Moki and minor differences can be seen.

The Moki came from CollectorKnives, if you call it a knock off Mike will beg to differ. Check it out before confusing it with a knock off.

I don't think KJ was implying your knife was a knock off, he was just warning others that there are knock offs online so one needs to be careful.

Speaking of Moki...this one also came from Mike (CollectorKnives.net). It cost me a bit more than $60, though...a bit more than double that amount, as I recall, and still worth every penny. Walk and talk action on this baby is second to none, rock solid lock up, fit and finish...well...judge for yourselves.

I don't claim to know what anyone thinks or implies or what goes on in their head. I just read the words and want to tell everyone this is no knock off and you don't have to worry or be careful if you buy from CollectorKnives . Check them out and see for yourself, the price is great, the knife is real, and you will never regret or be disappointed with a Moki from Mike or he will take it back and make it right. One of the best places to buy legit knives period.

ivoryman, my post was not questioning your knife. As Phil kindly pointed out, i was trying to inform others who might want to get a Moki after seeing yours, to be careful and not necessarily buy the lowest priced ones.
The best way to be sure you are getting an original Moki is to buy from an established knife dealer like Mike at CK.
The same is true for Fallkniven, although their website shows pics of the fakes and points out the very slight difference in appearance. Without this 'tutorial', likely 95% of us 'knifer guys' would be fooled by the fakes. In other words, the China made fakes of higher end Japanese knives, are themselves well made knives. However how good they are performance wise relative to an original seems unknown, or at least i have never seen any posts about this.
