Came in the mail today. Browning USA skinner. I recall these being late 70’s early 80’s knives.

Man Squach, every one a sweetie, and a great photo. That one with the creek background rocks. Coincidentally I have been looking at German WW2 knives lately and really like that Scout. Are they the Hitler Youth model? Beauty for sure, cool relic. Great pics. ::tu::

Thanks Iman. The scout knife is the Pathfinder by Linder. I don't know if the scout pattern predates the Hitler Youth pattern or vice-versa but one of them copied the other. The obvious difference, other than age, is the HY knife would have the swastika on the handle while the scout knife has the Fleur-de-lis which is an international symbol of scouting.

Ahhh, thanks for that info. Very cool knife regardless. Really like those. And pretty much all you post. Thanks again. ::handshake::

Found this one in an old tackle box that belonged to a deceased relative. Not sure how old it is but knowing the person who owned it I would guess late '70s or early '80s.

I don't normally collect Rough Rider knives but, for OBVIOUS reasons, I just had to grab one of these. ::rotflol::

That is indeed a beautiful handle QS! ::tu::

OK, here's another Ontario I picked up recently. I don't know what happened between the Randall Adventure Team and Ontario but I now have an ESEE 3 by Rowan and a RAT 3 by OKC. The are virtually identical. There are some very small differences in dimensions like blade thickness at the tip, the RAT 3 is a little thinner and the pommel is round rather than pointed like the ESEE. The OKC RAT 3 comes with a much nicer sheath as well. The only reason I bring this up is because one has to think that losing the contract with RAT probably contributed to the downfall of OKC. It's so sad to see another long time American cutler go under. :(

When learning of Ontario's demise, I felt exactly as did you.

I was shocked and saddened when I learned Ontario had gone under. My guess is the communist government of NY drove them out of business.
I heard that Blue Ridge has purchased them and will restart production at a new location, I hope this is true.
I just picked up an orange handled Ontario, that I'm in the process of making a kydex sheath for. I'll post photos when I complete it, maybe this afternoon.
