Here's a few from my collection that I took out to photograph today, all three in unused condition. I've carried the big harness jack once but none of them have been used thus far, some knives I just want to keep like new.

Please allow a question that I can assume was asked somewhere in 300+ pages of this thread.

These are simply considered as "Beauty Shots" correct?

If I were to post images asking about or showing an example then all the creative back ground would NOT be wanted or needed. Is that correct?

For a guy that can't buy a good picture all the expert looking backgrounds are just too much to ask. Thanks...

AAPK has many, many discussion threads about knives. My perception, which could vary from someone else's perception, is that the "Knife Photography" thread is as much about photography as it is knives. (i.e., knives are used as subjects for photos).

Here is a link to a sample post in another thread for your reference where a person is asking about an old Case knife. The important thing about pictures where you are seeking information about a knife to make sure any markings on the knife are clear and readable. They don't need to be artistic if that is what you are getting at.

That was exactly what I was asking.
I'm looking into the scanner method as we speak because I can NOT use a camera. Just like some guys can't figure out the dishwasher...

I guess I missed the point on this thread twice. It IS about the photography more than the knife... sort of.

I have rarely, and quite possibly never, posted a photo in this thread considering my photos too crude for inclusion. Posted previously in the Queen collector's thread I think these photos might be adequate.

I'm with you Quick Steel. I all ways admire you guys and the fine pictures you take. This is as good as me and my camera phone can do.

Hey Quick Steel and espn, those are great photos, great back drops, great angles, don't sell yourself short, you have plenty of photography skills and you just supplied the proof. Good to see you branching out and giving it a whirl, great shots, keep them coming.

I agree, those are nice knives and nice photos. Every photographer has a different eye for what they like. It doesn't work to try and mimic someone elses photos. When you see something/somewhere interesting and set your knife there, you'll know if it is going to be a nice picture or not before you even push the button. Trust your instincts!

My only advise for photographers is this, and I follow it myself. Take lots and lots and lots of pictures, either with different backgrounds, or different angles, or different times of day, etc. Then pick the best 2% and show those off.

For every picture I've posted here in this thread, there are 50 that I deleted off my camera.
