Nope, not really, Dog, no more or less than if you'd suggested English made, Brazilian made, or Canadian made, in fact, it's not exuding any sort of vibe...

M&M, I tried looking for some examples of various German made stag handled fixed blades with a quick glance at the European Knives thread, no luck so far.... I just get a "German" feeling on your blade there ( ...also I really like it , that is my preference in that style of fixed blade ) I was looking for Puma FBs for a long time.... oh did I love them .... but prices have gone through the roof, so I pulled back on picking them up these days... Oh I like the Puma "White Hunter" .....

On first look I was thinking Puma too, but without seeing their smatchet style blade I didn't think so.
Those White Hunters certainly are great FB knives, but as you said, costly.

Thank you TopDog!! I got it for $90 ... reasonable I think. A NIB Seki knife of any kind is usually pushing at least 100 these days.
But when you have the "Japan Knife Addiction", or JKA for short, you fall off the wagon (again), and the knife has more appeal than the $$$. I have a pile yet to post ... maybe by winter. Right now, boats need upholstery, and knives need selling ... Tis the Season!

Your Puma is looking very much like the mystery bowie I posted, Kerry, smaller pins and bigger guard grant it, but much the same overall shape. Even the slight swedging on the top-tip is similar.
It's been rode hard and put away wet, but seems to have absorbed the abuse anyway, I wonder if it's actually a Puma.
Your knife is absolutely gorgeous, BTW!

Sweet! Can you tell by the serial # (if it has one) as to what year it was made? I recall on the older White Hunters you could date them by the serial # located on the tang/handle... as I recall, which is a little shaky these days ... ... as I get older I get more and more like Bid... Opps! let me just stop there .... the head hunters might still be out and about!

During the height of the political wars in Central America a jeweler named Bob Terzuola made some knives for military, police and contractors. His blades quickly gained fame and popularity. Many consider his work the first true tactical knives.

Following is a Terzuola/ Camillus collaboration. This is Terzuola's CQB-1, Close Quarters Battle 1. The 5 1/2" blade is made of ATS34, wih a Micarta handle. I wonder how many of us remember when ATS34 was all the rage as a premium steel.


It is a well constructed knife. The blade's lines are not as crisp as I would like. On the other hand the blade came with an exceptionally sharp edge.
