I wish I was that good! I videoed it with my iPhone. I didn’t think of taking a still from it, but my oldest boy scrolled through frame by frame and saved that frame.

Yeah, you can't burn through a ton of ammo going full auto with a BP pistol. I loaded it up a few times for Brenda to try it out, her first time firing any pistol. She liked it.

For any Civil War collectors: This is a 3" "Absterdam" (spelling correct), round for a Parrot rifle. I had a friend named John Owen. He and his wife both grew up in Gettysburg PA. He'd be over 100 now. He collected this round on the battlefield. When he was a kid in the 1930's it was still common to find things like this. When he died, his daughter gave it to me because I am an avid student of that chapter of our history.
The round is 7-1/2 " tall with a lead "sabot" to expand into the canon's rifling. Weight,9.5 pounds. It is believed to be of Southern manufacture due to where it was found and it's rough casting. The fuse is missing.
No idea what it's worth now, researched it 20 years ago and it was around $300 . Don't want to sell it anyway. J.O.

Hey Steve. Yeah the Parrot was a mean weapon. Highly mobile and accurate. That was an ugly affair. J.O'.

Cudgee: A 3 inch "Parrot Rifle" , a canon towed by a horse or mule team. I think they were cast steel light barrels with an iron reinforcing band near the breach end. Very popular on both sides. More accurate due to the rifling. The lead "sabot" (shoe) of the round would expand on firing and fill the rifle grooves to create spin on the projectile, much like the musket's "minie ball". Superior to heavy brass, smooth bored "Napoleans" with a 6 pound round shot. Parrot rounds were 9.5 pounds, 50+% bigger. I'm sure you can find a description on Wikipedia. J.O'.

Chris, I was just about to ask if that's some kind of grip safety. Squeeze-cocker eh? This is the first time I've run into such a device. Interesting.

Well, that was a lousy picture I posted last night.
The H&K is a squeeze cocker, very safe operation. No small child would be able to squeeze and pull the trigger at the same time.
I have a tough time doing it myself. I have the original case, extra magazine & paperwork. These sell on Gunbroker for north of $2500.

From the same fellow I purchased another German classic, Sig P210. The originals were Swiss mfg, Still one of the most desirable modern era
handguns. Very fine and easy shooting. Both are 9mm.

I know far more about handguns than I do about knives. My special interest is Smith & Wesson revolvers. I'll pop in occasionally with more pictures

I'm an active member on one of the S&W forums, several guys have admitted to owning/carrying a Ladysmith.
Me, the guns I shoot the most are former LE guns, a couple of Model 66s.
