Morning folks, 68 the low may make 90 sez the guessers. Got about 4 tenths of a inch of rain yestiddy. We didn't get the bigger showers till after the roofing crew got everything dryed in and left for the day. They were back at it at 6: 30 this morning they got the back side completed and are tearing off the front.
Wampus was here in all his magnificence, ate and cut out, doesn't seem to enjoy all this activity.
Hope yawl have a good'un and be careful out there. ::handshake::

Mornin' Y'all

Got the hay mowed yesterday, before a brief but strong t/storm blew through in the afternoon.
Gluing down some loose trim on my car and a trip to wallyworld rounded out the day.

Another weekend in the hole awaits. Perhaps it will pass peaceful .. ... ..

Pot's singing its song. Yawl stay cool and safe

Good Mornin', Chris, glad you got the pot going this morning.
74° as it's getting light in the east. 95 was our high yesterday. Workday went well, put a new chain on the saw and we cut several small oaks out of a thicket and made 4- 10' posts to support or hold up the deer fence. We dug the holes and set the post but didn't fill in around them, it was too hot and we always quit around noon. Made a deer burger for dinner and got a nap. Had another rain shower during nap time, just enough to make things steamy. Later I finished setting, plumbing and tamping the posts. Need to figure out now how to hang the plastic wire/net, whatever it is, after all this is an experiment. ::nod::
Drinking my coffee, watching Panhandle Outdoors on the TV.
Hope y'all have a great day, be careful in the heat.

Good morning. It's 57 degrees but won't be cool for long today, getting up near 90. Tomorrow and Sunday are supposed to be worse. I'd love to get some of the metal on our roof, or some of the retaining walls done this weekend, but not in this heat. I might even mess with my knives. I haven't touched them in months other than a passing glimpse. I hate to think this hobby has run its course like my game farm and country dancing did. I'm too old to start another hobby. The way I approach hobbies do tend to rob time from more important things, so maybe backing off isn't a bad thing but I don't think I'm ready to sell off and walk away quite yet. I think that one way or another, I'd hang around for the coffee and fellowship. I'm off to work. The cabin we are working on does have AC._____Dave

Good morning. Well the heat is still hanging around here as well . Going to go try this pickleball thing out at 8 am this morning. A friend just retired and wants to try it. We will see how this goes . We’re not the athletic type at all but looking for new things to do with our days off . Good thing there’s fishing and hunting cause I’m not sure how this will go ! You all stay cool out there .

Morning folks, 70 the low could hit the mid 80's by afternoon, looks to be a little over a inch in the gage. More on the way according to the guessers and the phone radar, maybe more than we really want at one time, but we need it.
Wampus was here again this morning, didn't see him last evening.
Roof is finished, had them tear out the old brick chimney everything looks good.
Buddies day at Hooters.
Hope yawl have a good sale at the knife show.
Yawl have a good'un and be careful out there. ::handshake::

Good Mornin', Diners. ::handshake::
72° this morning. Yesterday we saw 92° and triple digits for the "feel like" temperatures. I noticed that the "feel like" temperature doesn't stay constant for very long, it moves up and down while the actual temperature stays constant. Breezes may cause this as they are variable, noticeable when when resting in the shade. ::shrug::
Got the north side of the small garden spot "deer proof" fence installed yesterday. Also moved the zeroturn down to the woods and mowed around the deer feeder before dinner. I'm pretty much shot by dinner. That afternoon nap is always good.
Coffee is tasting pretty good this morning, enjoying the hummingbird traffic. Been putting off going to the grocery store, maybe do that early this morning before the place gets crowded.
Just heard on the news about the flooding in Missouri and a youth camp having to be evacuated by chopper, bringing back memories of last year's flood in Texas. :(
Hope everyone one had a good day.

Good morning. 58 here with a heat advisory for later today with temps around 90. That might be everyday stuff for you living down South, but not for us Northern boys. Bible study is at my home in a couple hours and nothing planned after that. Jason, Melody and Dan took Cassady up to the hospital last night around midnight and they all came back home by three with no baby yet. They told Cassady she was close and that they would keep her and induce her, but they had no beds available, and to come back on Monday. For some reason unapparent to me, a ton of babies are being born around here. There were 4 or 5 ladies ready to give birth in our church family, and we are a small church. Another of our granddaughters had one a couple months ago and several of my nieces had babies within the past few months. I guess when you are a large family with lots of grandkids reaching the age of marriage, that's what happens. My siblings did the same thing. Yesterday we finished up the flooring project on the cabin and probably will start a job installing windows for another customer on Monday. Have a good weekend.____Dave

Gonna be hot and humid today, had planned to go to a music festival today but don’t think the old body can tolerate it, bummer. After the 2 week bout of diverticulitis I’m feeling kinda weak and rundown.
So nothing much planned for the weekend. Catch up on laundry and get some stuff listed on eBay.
Keep cool!

Morning folks, 74 was the low near 90 for the high predicted. Poured out 1.25 inches out of the old rain gauge last evening, we had a light sprinkle last night, there's some right heavy stuff showing up on the radar to the west of us, maybe it won't peter out before it gets here. 🤞
Wampus showed for breakfast, missed supper again last night.
Guess I'll get the trash to the dumpster in a minute, might even stop by the little flea market see if bubba has any knives that float my boat.
Hope yawl have a good'un and be careful out there..::handshake::

If you are looking for more rain, BH, I will try to send it your way. We have had just shy of 4" in the last 36 hours, more on the way today. I hope "Woodwalker" is staying dry over in Missouri.
I saw a post from JP this morning, I guess he survived his pickle ball experience.
I watched the classic "War Wagon" last night, probably my favorite John Wayne movie. I guess with more rainy weather today, I'll be forced to stay inside and watch Norway/England. ::nod::

Good morning . Did survive the first pickleball outing. Am looking forward to more. Sister wants to play as well so the support will help. My school teacher friend, who’s the one that wanted to do it said he can’t move without something hurting. We’re big John Wayne fans Ike, so we will check out War Wagon. You all stay cool out there

Good morning. 69 to start the day and will see into the 90's with 100% humidity. Church is in a few hours and we are planning to go to lunch with todays guest speaker and a few others. The speaker today grew up in the house across the road from where we live. WE bought our property from his parents. His wife is currently in the hospital after having a stroke. Cassady's baby is still taking her time showing up so it appears on Monday the doctor will help her along. Brittney, another granddaughter, was here yesterday with her 6 month old and that little one was busy stealing everyone's heart and in her best behavior. Brittney has a 40-mile drive to work at a day care every day and calls Jane and they talk the whole time she is driving, and the baby doesn't like traveling and lets everyone know it the whole way to work. When she pulls in to work and shuts off the car, the baby is all smiles. Have a good Sunday and be cool if possible._____Dave

Good Mornin', Dave and others visiting the diner this Sunday morning. ::handshake::
74° this morning, sun is hitting the tops of the tall pines west of the house. My coffee is good this morning.
Slow day yesterday, early to the store, forgot some things, washed, dried and put up a load of laundry, made a venison stew for today, the power went off for an hour, house temperature only raised a couple of degrees, walked the mini-dachshund, fought mosquitoes, called one of Miss Joy's old friends who's husband is on hospice and went to bed. How's that for a long sentence sharing yesterday?
Church in a few hours, join me there or somewhere today, it'll do us good.

Morning folks, 70 for the low supposed to top out around 80. Quarter of an inch in the gauge this morning, maybe another pop-up around noon.
Wampus was here for supper and again this morning.
I got most of the chores taken care of yestiddy, got tired before getting to the flea market so past it by, probably save a buck or two.
Hope yawl have a good'un and be careful out there. ::handshake::

Man i sure hate it for the folks over in MO, 12 inches in a day is hard to handle. For the most part it fizzled out before it got here, pretty hard shower in Nashville yestiddy afternoon we just got a light shower up here on the rim.. ::handshake::
Herny our weekend guesser just said Nashville is still 7 and a half inches behind normal and I'll bet we are more than that up here.

Good morning. &2 degrees heading up to the mid 90's and muggy today and tomorrow. Cassady and her crew (husband Dan, Jason and Melody) are on their way to the hospital hoping to do some scraping or inducing to get this baby born. I'll go down to the chickens to let them out, but don't plan on anything outside except maybe for a quick bike ride before the heat kicks in. It doesn't appear that this week will produce any productive carpenter work with rainstorms coming in after the heat leaves later in the week. That's OK with me because my back is killing me, probably mostly due to the weather front sitting over us. Have a good week and stay cool and hydrated._____Dave

Good Mornin', Folks.
72° and the sun is up but there are some clouds south of us there and a bunch of rain that is moving due east. Supposed to be rainy for the 1st part of the week, we still need it! We got 1.1 inches yesterday after church. Good napping weather. ::tu::
Had a good Sunday, had more phone calls than the normal for some reason. One of Miss Joy's brothers is the family "historian", he wants to have accurate information and I'm the oldest remaining family member (by marriage) so once in a while I'm able to remember some details that escaped the younger family members.
Well the rain has just started here. Outside work may not be on today's agenda, always something to do inside.
Y'all have a great Monday.

Morning folks, 71 was the low may get to the mid 80's later. We got a inch of rain yestiddy afternoon so a inch and a quarter for the day everything looks green and luscious. Scattered showers today they say.
Wampus was on his throne this morning, he laid on it all day yestiddy even during the rain which I've never known him to do. The hot evening sun finally ran him under the she shed.
Don't know what I'll get into today we've already took care of several chores this morning. I'd like to weedeat and put some roundup down.
You folks up in the north that are experiencing all time high temperatures be sure to drink plenty off fluids even if you're not thirsty, dehydration can sneak up on you in a hurry.
Have a good'un and be careful out there. ::handshake::

Morning, diners.
Currently 77 with 87 the high later on. Beautiful and bright sunshine.
The schedule today? Mowing. Get that backyard taken care of and wait for the kid who mows our front and back lot later this week.
Maybe some computer baseball later.
Y'all have a great start to the week! And remember to be safe, be careful and be alert!

Up way too early, again. Gonna be a long day. Wife and I have dermo. appointments in B'ham this afternoon,
and then have to hurry back home for Community Club this evening. I have a skin tag in a very sensitive location
I need removed

Good news, though: the Camillus 51 Barlow I bought from Jeff arrived in the mail yesterday, after initially being returned to sender Saturday for the address # being wrong.

Good morning. 71 degrees heading back up into the 90's. No news yet from Cassady if the baby has arrived. Jason came home in the middle of the night and Melody and Dan stayed at the hospital. That's about all I got for this morning. Have a good Tuesday.____Dave

Good Mornin', Folks. ::handshake::
72° was the low this morning. Had a half inch of rain yesterday, supposed to be more this afternoon.
Went to men's prayer meeting earlier this morning.
The yard grass is beginning to call my name, once a week is the normal. I did an approximate area calculation with the Google earth site, our irregular shaped yard is a tad over 4 acres. Years ago I threatened to move the fences in closer to the house so I wouldn't have to spend so much time mowing. Now the mowing is a pleasant diversion for me.
Still puttering around with the "deer proof" fence, believe we'll be able to possibly plant some Seminole pumpkins that Bambi won't destroy.
Enjoying a good cup of coffee waiting for my Tuesday call from our oldest daughter. :)
Y'all have a great day.
