All About Pocket Knives

Here's a simple shot that I thought turned out pretty nice.

Took this shot under overcast skies today using the camera on my phone. I think it came out better than most knife pics I've taken.

Q, it is tough to make those partial shots look just right, but you have succeeded with that one. Kind of a little bit of a tease, leaves you wanting to see more. ....kind of like a lady showing just the right amoumt of leg....

Here is a walnut bone full size Case toothpick with the script shield, always have had a fondness for this knife, and it knows how to pose for a pic.

Q, your elegant shot makes the knife look elegant. Nicely done.

Great shots folks, sometimes less is more makes the better pic, it's hard to do it but you did it with that AG Russell.

I love the Case script shield, I love the contrast of the individual letters against the scale, great shot BTW.

One of the things we can do to improve our pics comes in the form of processing the picture after the fact. Sometimes it's just a matter of cropping, sometimes it's more subtle like a change in hue or brightness. You don't have to suffer with the poor smart phone app Photo editors out there and you don't have to spend $800 for Photoshop to get great results. There's an alternative available for free, on line editing, no apps to download and almost as much editing power as you'd get from the basic Photoshop program. I't's called pixlr editor and here's the link, try it, you'll like it, I'm sure you will. Here's a link to the site, just click it and be ready to edit. I'm curious to know if anyone likes this as much as me.

I picked up a new canoe for the collection this week and shot this pic for the canoe thread and my collection catalog.

MH, I've been using a program called Shotwell Photo Manager. It's very basic but then so are my skills.

Recent acquisition CSM (Connecticut Shotgun Manufacturers) Galazan, scroll & roses engraved shotgun Sidelock Folder. I've seen the Beretta version and it's a cheaply made piece of junk, this one is well made and feels solid in your hand. I couldn't remember if I posted it here so here's my first shot I kinda liked.

I always forget to clean for lint and fingerprints so I'll post a better pic when I take the next one.

Great photos fellas, that pearl knife especially got my attention.

I took two pit bulls for a walk in the woods this morning....one on four legs and one in my pocket. Glad I took my camera too.

I'm an animal lover from way back, I've had many dogs, cats, pigs, chickens and very manner of pet from misery and fish to hermit crabs and turtles.

Dogs were always my favorite and I've always had a dog I could fight and play with, minimum 60 lbs ever since I was 4 y/o, looks like you got a great one there . I was never afraid of pitbulls they're just like any other dog, just thick, strong, stubborn and loyal to a fault. I feel more comfortable with a dog that can take some rough play.

I agree MH. Duce goes about 95 lbs. He is definitely "thick". The vet keeps saying he could lose five or six pounds. He's what you call a buddy dog....his job in life is to be my buddy an he does it well. I actually have two pit bulls, the other one is a red nose brindle who is 15 years old now. I adopted him when he was 10 and needed a home. He weighs 55 - 60 lbs. His name is Romeo and at 15 he doesn't go for long walks anymore, he prefers to lay in the grass and bark at passersby.
