All About Pocket Knives

I got these in a few weeks ago and forgot to post them. Bought them from ePrague. A recent factory find. Bought them for give aways, just haven’t found the right customers to add these to their purchases yet. The blade twists up out of the tube just like lip stick. Nice and sharp I can shave hair with these. A nice little novelty knife.

Those are cool little items, Mark, I have often wondered exactly what they can be used for.
You can't send one to me, cuz being concealed they're illegal.
Perhaps best sent to the ladies?

I like them Mark. They are cute. I can see these being confiscated by TSA if someone forgot they had it on them. Can’t believe that anyone would be frightened by a blade this small, especially one that would retract if subjected to just a little force. But law doesn’t have the ability to see the nuances of knives.

Yep, you've sure got that right, Mark.
If Canada Customs found them they would probably seize them as automatics due to how the blade retracts by a twist of the body.

Bought this a week back and didn’t realize that I didn’t already have it in the collection so it’s staying with me. White bone A.G. Russell lockback with red liners.
Here is a group shot of my collection of these large and small. One of these is an Aristocrat but it’s the same knife and maker in Seki.

Very nice, Mark, and I'm certain you're aware those are my kindda knives.
I browse your store everyday, and I can't tell you the number of times I've almost bought one or two, but then I come to my senses and realize I already have many similar models that I don't even have time to play with, so why buy more.
Knowing me I'm sure I will break down at some point and pull out the ole' wallet though.
Your store is FULL of great knives and it's a real pleasure to view them, especially with your superior pictures.

Thank you Mark. I know this is your kind of knife. I thought of you when I bought this new one. I would have sworn I already had this one in this larger size, but I didn’t. Otherwise it would be for sale right now in my store. There has always been something about this pattern that I love. I use to have one of these smaller ones as an EDC, but sold it recently. I wonder if A.G.R designed this and it was made by Master Tak Fukuta or if it was the other way around? Since Aristocrat has the same model it’s really hard to figure out and the folks at A.G Russell aren’t talking.

Picked up another one for my collection. It’s a Mediterranean Barlow made for Cattaraugus Cutlery and the KCC. This is one of the first 200 produced. You know it’s in the first so many with these since the first ones all had engraved bolsters, some in the first 25 or 50 have some other embellishments.
This Barlow has a side lock that requires you to move one side of the knife to unlock the knife from the open position. I’ve seen this knife also with black lip pearl and mother of pearl. One thing I really like on this is that there is no brass on this knife. The last Cattaraugus knife with engraving I bought had some real damage from the brass corroding badly on the bottom end.
Took a group shot of the engraved or embellished blades that I have in this line of Japanese made Cattaraugus knives. The hunt goes on for more.

When I looked at your group picture of these knives in "Mail Call", Mark, I was immediately drawn to the Med Barlow.
I very much like the cover release system and recall seeing it on the knife with black lip pearl, and I was impressed.

Thank you Mark. If I find one of these Med Barlows in black lip pearl and has scrolled bolsters, I will certainly be adding it to the collection. So far I can’t remember encountering one, so not sure they made those.

I might be mistaken, Mark, but I thought I saw the black lip pearl version in your store.

You had 2 different models and you did a full explanation of how the release works in your description.

It's either that, or I'm getting older than I thought and am experiencing very vivid "senior's moments"!

Y'all have putting up some gorgeous knives here! As I told Mark (MadMarco) in a PM, ya'll have sparked an interest for me in Seki knives. I have some Parkers, but I am looking at others and learning more about the knifemakers in that region. The one below I acquired at my local auction several weeks back. Don't know much about Coleman except they bought out Western USA in 1984 I believe it was. Perhaps someone could offer some info. Many thanks!

Tony, I have had all of those Coleman’s made in Japan and they are all very well made and beautiful. The sowbelly was a particular favorite of mine.
That one has some beautiful stag on it.

Thanks Mark! I read your posts at the beginning of this thread late last night about these Colemans ... very good info. It is well built with nice F & F ... will have to keep my eye out for more.

I agree about the F&F on the Coleman knives and I also really like the Coleman tang stamp

Always wished they had made one with a handle in the classic Coleman green like is typically found on their lanterns and camp stoves.

I like the tang also, and the shield. Green colored handles would be classic. I was a little skeptical when I saw mine in the showcase at the auction, having never seen one, but was drawn to it. Glad I got it. Are the blue ones harder to find? Yours' have some very nice bone, QT!

Thanks CornCC. I don't know how hard they are to find now, but when I got my Coleman mini trappers it seems they were showing up on eBay quite regularly. Now, however, they are few and far between; as is typical with most knives, they tend to come in waves.
