A Sword Brand with all blades having a 4 line stamp . Pre 1941 ?
A 4 line ,main only stamped . Very likely after 1941 .
Do have a Question ? Back a few pages it was stated that a file opposite the Main does not make it a Whittler . Here’s a pic of a Duane Cutlery Co. From around 1910 to 1920 with a file opposite the main . What’s the general consensus nowadays .
Interesting read here and some darn nice knives .

Generally speaking the main requirement for a split spring whittler is that the main must bear off of both springs and the secondaries each have a spring of their own. Of course in the example of a true split spring the master only has one large spring that it bears off of. Those are very rare though and haven't been made since about 1850..

Counts to me, anything last century now seems vintage to me, but hey, others may disagree. Great looking bone on that baby, and nice pattern. How's the lock up on a Parker? Congrats, good looker. And love the group shot above, you have some beauties there and I always like looking at a whittler. Kudos.

Must have missed this when you posted it, but beautiful bones and patina. Looks like that old German pressed bone stag maybe?And I love seeing what blade compliment the oldies have. Very cool knife.

I was never quite clear on the pressed bone covers. Always a bit confusing to me. I do have a few.
