Not sure about Bench Made knives;the one I posted is made by BENCH MARK which was started in Gastonia North Carolina in the early 1970's and bought out by Gerber in 1985. They made the Rolox folder(actually a slide blade knife)of which I have two and a Ninja as well as the Argonaut.They were pretty expensive in their day;the Rolox was $90 and the Argonaut $115 in the early 1980's.Most of their knives were designed by Blackie Collins.

Case mammoth ivory only 100 made

Now that's a sweet knife! I have a 4 blade congress in mammoth ivory, and I love it. congrats!

This knife is one of the more interesting knives in my collection to me anyway.I acquired it about 30 years ago in trade for a pinstriping job(plus some cash)on a Mercedes-Benz that belonged to one of my dealership customers. I think he may have gotten it as partial payment for his services as a lawyer from the original buyer.It came with the original box and all the paperwork including a credit-type card with the original owner's name on it.
As an aside he gave up his law practice and went into racing and restoring vintage Bugattis which I believe he still does.
The knife was #333 of 500 made for the Duxback Company by Jimmy Lile.It is a model 100 featuring a tapered tang and osage orange scales.The sheath is Jimmy's own design and rather unique in that it can be worn on either side as it has a belt loop on both sides.The rawhide lanyard allows it to be held securely in place without danger of it falling out but when needed it can be drawn without taking the time to undo the lanyard by merely pulling the knife out.
It did get some small rust spots on it years ago but they pretty much cleaned off.It feels very comfortable in the hand.

It sure is a beauty.

Couple guys made the knives in the garage then expanded for a short time then the company faded away like most American companies at that time. They expanded to meet the demand of the Ithacagun contract once Ithacagun went out of buissness a once high in demand custom knife was tarnished by the partnership. Had 3 such knives 2 White Rivers and one Bitter Root all 3 sold for in the $230 range and now all I have is pictures. Below is a cutout provided to me by one of the guys that bought 2 of the knives.

I just won this beast off of ebay. WOW! What a knife, a Cold Steel Natchez Bowie with the SK5 steel. I'm not a fan of the secure x sheath that is provided with this version though. Any one have a suggestion for sharpening a blade of this size? It is used slightly but it seems like the sheath is doing a good job at dulling the blade. The knife is 17 plus inches overall, heavy construction yet light in the hand.

That is way bigger than any fixed blade I own. It looks well made. How do you plan to use it, or is it more of a show piece ?

Congratulations. Cold Steel really does a superior job with their Bowies. Perhaps the greatest of Bowie makers for many years, Bill Bagwell, uses a CS bowie as an example to show students the correct way to make a Bowie. The lightness you experience in such a big knife clearly shows exceptional balance. IMO if one does not want to go custom, then CS is way to go.

I have acquired a dozen or so since I posted last. My partner in crime hasn't been able to photograph them but l have actual photos from the maker. I'll share a couple until l get the rest photographed.
This one is my Bark River Grind In knife. A few times a year they will open their shop to the Collectors Association and let their members have a try at making knives from blanks or you can try your own design with their guidance. Of course l couldn't attend but Mike, the owner and friend, told me to draw a design and specs and he would try to bring it to life and he nailed it.

The Etching on the blade is clear, I'm not sure why it's wonky in the photo.
