Found this early Bucklite at a Gunshow in Fayetteville NC today. It's my first "one dot" - no one is really sure about the significance of the mark. OH

Thanks Dogg, and I did post in that Buck forum. What I have found so far is that there are a decent number of 422 series Bucklites with one dot. These Bucklites seem to fit in after the first 422 Bucklites were released in 1984 with no dots (or other date codes) and 1986 when the annual date coding began. So roughly 1985 to sometime in early 1986. OH

Almost always, a 110,112 or in this case a Bucklite with a single dot on the tang is NOT a date mark. It usually means some type of production process change, or materials change. Once old models without the change are cleared from the factory floor there is no dot stamped. There is no listing of what changes have taken place. It is sometimes called a prototype stamp but that would usually be incorrect. Prototypes are usually marked by etching prototype on the blade. And are made in as small enough batches to see how things will work.
I am not an expert, just stuff I have picked up over time, reading and paying attention when smart people talk.

Thanks 300, I appreciate the info. I looked around the Buck Forum on Blade Forum and couldn't come up with anything definite - your info fits right into to that. OH

Interesting Crosslock, OH... I hadn't seen that model.
Something new is always good!

For me, I just have another 110 to contribute to the thread. It's a 1990 model (X) with sheath. Condition: near-mint, with light verdi gris from storage in sheath.

Thanks OH & Garddogg56.

OH, et al, when was the Cross-lock made?
It looks like it would be a great EDC.

Bill, this Crosslock was made in 1994. I haven't found another one in my on-line searching like this (most I've seen have a gut-hook as the second blade). The pictures I've seen show the name printed on the blue bar in the center of the handle. I saw it and bought it knowing virtually nothing about these knives except that it was a Buck. OH

I picked up one of those a few months ago in a pile of knives for just a few dollars. I didn't even know they made such an animal but it was fun to play with until I lost interest and stored it away. I think mine had the gutting blade. ___Dave
