Been busy and not been able to post much, but I got one this week that I have been looking awhile for. Out of stock everywhere including my wholesale vendor. Finally gave BassPro a shot, and got the last one. And the price was only $66!

Thanks Iman! Your rehandled Western is great ... I have several of them in leather and wood ... always pictured one with stag. Fine job Orvet did!

I believe Blue Ridge Knives bought OKC last august and shut them down.
I feel confident we'll begin seeing new China made OKC's anytime now.

You are right Ken ... Blue Ridge did buy OKC last year, and have been selling the stock that was left. They are one of my wholesale sources, but I have not asked them about what they will do with OKC. I need to do that next time I am there. Rumor is they want a US manufacturer in the future, but if it is not, I hope it will be Taiwan. I am no expert, but I find the Taiwanese made fixed blade knives excellent ... Cold Steel for example. Certain China made knives are excellent also, but in my opinion, they do folders best ... RoseCraft, Bestech, WE, Kizer, Kansept, to name a few. It is sad to say, but there aren't many US manufacturers left.

This fixed blade was handmade buy a blacksmith in Hungry. I met him while travelling over there and bought several pieces from him. It has a Damascus blade, with a high carbon edge forge welded to the Damascus. The ram's head pommel was forged by him as well. The stag handles are not the greatest stag I have ever seen, but mediocre stage is like a mediocre day fishing ( after calling sick ). I went to his forge with him and got to watch him at work. He made a knife for me in about 30 minutes, forged right in front of my eyes, then gave it me as a gift A great ( maybe the best? ) part of the trip....
