This afternoon I'm adding this "FRANKENKNIFE" to my wire-jack collection. I was wondering how long it would take for one of these to emerge. It's only three pieces, the handle, the blade and a pin. Or, in this case, a nail. When I saw it, I knew that I had to have it. It has the normal wire handle/frame. The blade however, is a L F & C (Landers Frary & Clark) USA blade. I don't believe that this was an attempt by the seller to deceive potential buyers. I think that somewhere in the history of this pocket knife, a previous owner broke two different pocket knives and rather than buy a new one or new ones, he put the surviving parts together and made this one. But.......who knows for sure. Anyway, I cleaned it up a bit, took some pictures and here it is.

Yes definitely a blade replacement, the pin is a cut down nail!

Interesting repurpose. Looks like it could have been made to be a whittler. Neat find.

That is an interesting addition to your collection Skip. I'm guessing that the wire jack frame was used in that way many times due to its easy access.

This afternoon, this pocket knife became my most recent addition to my wire handle/frame, pocket knife collection. It's a GEO. SCHRADE, single blade, wire handle/frame, hawkbill pruner pocket knife. It needed some cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.

Oldies but goodies.
Iβve never carried or used the fish knife (middle) but the clip and the spear have seen extensive use. I have to check and see what steel was used in these because they get very sharp . And thatβs coming from someone whose sharpening skills are so so at best.

Thanks Skip. I have a weakness for the beaters. I donβt know why, but maybe the simple construction matches up with a well ued piece of steel.
