Good morning. The sun is trying to peak out through the clouds after an afternoon and night of light rain. The little tiling job yesterday got a fair amount bigger by the time we got to the job site with additional stuff he decided he wanted done while we were there That's pretty typical so it's all good. Jason will be on his own for several days next week because I'll be at the hospital with Jane but it's just setting and grouting tile and some drywall work and we'd be tripping over each other in the small bathroom anyway. The surgeon told us to expect her to be in the hospital for probably three days. Nothing much planned for the weekend other than waiting for Monday's surgery and trying not to think too much about the what-ifs. Take care.____Dave
Dave, May God bless you both in this trying time.

Good Mornin', Folks!
Got the coffee brewing, it's 71° this morning. 92° was yesterday's high. Had a few stops to make in town yesterday and about the time we were getting ready to leave, the bottom fell out! A hard rain for a little while, it slacked up so we got in the car and by the time we got about halfway to town we ran out of the rain, dry as powder. Typical of summer showers.
We were cleaning up some grass and weeds in the walkways of a couple of couple of round flower beds when something got to stinging my left foot. Couldn't see anything, figured it was a fireant, when I kicked off my flip flop there was a honey bee. I'm used to bee stings now and then but this one kept burning. Closer examination revealed the stinger and venom sack still in my foot. Don't remember ever having a sting swell up like that one did, better this morning.
Never a dull moment around Starvation Plantation!
Y'all have a great Saturday.

Good morning. It's a chilly damp foggy morning here. I woke up with a scratchy throat and I'm hoping it's just from the dust from cutting out the material for the bathroom remodel. I don't want to take any chances on getting Jane sick before her surgery on Monday so I'll keep a little distance just in case it's a cold coming on. I have Men's Bible study and prayer group this morning early and nothing else planned for the day. Have a good weekend.____Dave

We caught the brunt of one of those popup storms up here BH. We had gone out for some friday fish at a little spot about 20 mi away. On the drive home we hit rain, and the outside temp indicator on our vehicle went from 92 down to 72. Checked the rain gauge when we got back, and it showed slightly less than 1/2" for that 15 min shower.

Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy,
sunshine in my eyes can make me cry.
Sunshine on the water looks so lovely,
sunshine almost always makes me high.
Happy Sunday everyone! Diner is open!!

Good Mornin', Tom. Great pictures as usual, the Jaws comment covered up a great shot.
71°, partly cloudy this Sunday morning. Radar shows big rain off shore, moving east. Our 0.4" rain yesterday came a little bit after noon. Probably more of the same today.
There are 3 deer working on "our" garden and pear trees while I'm waiting on Miss Joy to rise and shine. There are several cottontail in there with them. We moved a game camera to cover the pear tree, I'll check and see if we got any pictures this afternoon.
Sunday School and church in a few hours, boneless venison chops, steamed broccoli and angel hair pasta is on the menu after church today and of course the afternoon nap. When I was a little feller, my uncle would always take me for Sunday afternoon walk in the woods and I remember hating to wait for him to get done with his nap! Things do change.
Time for the 1st cup, y'all have a wonderful Sunday.

Good Morning Everyone!
I'm not going to church this morning, I've had several nosebleeds this past week and ended up in the ER
twice because I couldn't stop them. When it happens it's really a lot of blood. The cause is one of two
new blood meds that I recently started that both list this problem in some patients. I would hate to have
a bloody nose right in the middle of singing "Are You Washed In The Blood." Anyway hope all of you have
a blessed Sunday and be safe....

Good morning. It's the last day before Jane's surgery and I'm trying to keep a little distance because of my cold. A sore throat and head cold would be awful for her at this time. The surgeon called her yesterday and said the surgery is going to be a little more extensive than he first planned because a lymph gland on the other side of her neck showed up on the PET scan as having an issue along with the other one. He said it doesn't change things much but will take longer and increases the odds of having to do radiation after. They still are hoping to not need to do Chemo. It looks like another damp cool day is in store for us. We still are a little behind on rainfall and this sure beats hot and humid. Thunder storms came through last night and some storms and tornado watches went out but it doesn't appear we got any storm mess to clean up in the yard, just a little rain and nitrogen for our apple trees, which are loaded this year. Church in a few hours and I think my cold has let up enough to attend. The deacons are going to anoint Jane with oil and pray for her this morning so I need to be there. In case God decides to do a miracle I sure don't want to miss seeing that. I hope you all have a blessed day._____Dave

Prayers for the best outcome for Jane’s surgery

Nosebleeds, had them a lot as a kid. One nasty one as an adult ended up in the hospital for 2 or 3 days. Doc did some kind of minor surgery and none since.
Birds are protesting cuz all the feeders are empty so I’ll take care of that shortly.
Got about .3 in of rain earlier so that took care of watering my flowers.
Rest of the day, house cleaning and laundry, maybe a nap.

Good morning. We have to leave in about 2 hours to get to the hospital by 9 for them to prep for a 11;15 surgery that should be done around 3. Jason and Melody are both coming with and our pastor will be there around 11. I have a list of people to call after because so much of tomorrow depends on what they find today.. The prayer and emotional support has been incredible. The surgeon told us this is very curable and not considered a life threatening cancer by all initial appearances so that was good to hear. Any type of cancer scares us because we've lost so many friends and family already from it so it's hard to not get stressed and my blood pressure is showing it. It looks kind of dark, damp and gloomy outside this morning, but every day for the past week or so seems to start out like that and the sun comes out after an hour or two and we've had some pretty nice days with rain at night. In a couple weeks, we'll be celebrating 56 years of marriage and that number blows my mind. It's new territory for people in both of our families. Usually one spouse dies around 60 and the other lives into their 80's. I have to go wake up Jane for her shower. Have a good week. Scott, be careful out there on the road and have a great visit with your Mom.____Dave

Good Mornin', Dave and others coming to the diner.
Dave, sounds like y'all have all the support in place for the surgery. Folks will be praying for the desired results this morning.

Keep us posted if you can.
71 Degrees this morning, 95% humidity, probably be a bit warm today. Not much rain yesterday, a tiny sprinkle around 4pm but was cloudy enough to keep the high at 87.
Not too sure about today's activities.

Do know that coffee is about to be served.
Didn't get all 3 of our visitors in the pictures together yesterday morning. This was the best we could do:

- 2 does and a cottontail yesterday morning.
Seems to me the world is getting crazier each day, thinking about the incident in Idaho yesterday.
Y'all have a blessed day.

Morning folks 72 the low around 90 for the high. We just had a light shower, looked at my phone radar and there was nothing for hundreds of miles except right around the Greenbrier area. Talk about pop-ups wow.
Wampus was on the steps awaiting chow.
Praying for Jane and Dave and family.
I got another round of pt on my shoulder this morning.
We had a great weekend, son and grandson's early 4th get together was great, lots of family and friends that we hadn't seen in a while showed up it was a fine time of good food and visiting.
Hope yawl have a good'un and be careful out there, don't forget to hydrate.

We had some visitors this morning.

Good Mornin', welcome to July!
Normally I would be at the men's prayer meeting but Miss Joy has a very early Dr, appointment. She's been having tummy issues for a week or so.
72° this morning, had 0.5 inch of rain yesterday afternoon after it got up to 92°. There's a thin line of showers northwest of us coming our way. Looks like they may break up before they get here.
Got a lot of mowing done in the woods yesterday, mowed the larger food plot and several roads that had grown over. Time to get back on the zt and start on the yards again. Only 3 more months of this mowing, probably.
Y'all remember to keep Miss Jane and Dave in your prayers as she's recuperating.
Coffee's being served.

Good morning. I'll be going up to sit with Jane today. She was still out of it yesterday evening and very uncomfortable so we didn't stay long hoping she would sleep. I'm hoping they can control the pain level better today but I'm sure the next few days will be rough. The tongue is so sensitive and that is a big open wound and will be for some time. I have to figure out some soft foods she can eat, all liquid at first and the surgeon said they wouldn't let her go home until she could eat with a straw and then progress to a spoon as she feels comfortable. Jason is going to the tile job to keep that going. I have a ton of stuff to get done around the house too like washing and changing the bed sheets, dishes that have been piling up and all the regular stuff that Jane does every day when she is home. It will drive her nuts to be sitting in her chair and see dog hair that needs vacuuming. I gotta run. The chickens need their breakfast. Take care.____Dave

Heading to the twin cities to pick up a scooter for a friend. Not my favorite place to drive around in but it’s for a good cause . Weather report says humid rest of week ,must be July. No plans for the 4 th . Not yet anyway.

Morning folks, 72 heading to the 80's chance of rain as a front is coming through, supposed to be a little cooler for a day or two lower humidity will help.
Wampus was here on his throne, one crazy cat.
Hopes and prayers sent for Jane and Dave God speed.
Went to pt yestiddy only to be told it's today instead. Got my annual appointment with the urologist this afternoon.
VA dermatologist called yestiddy afternoon said the sample they took last week were benign so that made my day, now if I can get the places healed up things will be rosy.
Don't forget to hydrate, guess you don't need to be told, but a reminder is always important for my older knife buddies, it's easy to get busy and forget.
Hope yawl have a good'un and be careful out there.

Mornin' Y'all
Glad to see the fair report of Ms Jane and hope she bounces back quickly.
Nothing new here in Dixie, other than I have to shmuck to the lawyer's office today to re-sign some papers.
More thunder busters expected this evening, after yesterday's went around us.

Dave and Jane, pray you have a good day and the healing process continues.

Good Mornin', JP and others who will stop by the diner today!
Foggy this morning here at Starvation Plantation. The little weather device shows 73° with 97% humidity. Got another 0.5" shower yesterday afternoon around 4pm.
Our Dr. appointment yesterday for Miss Joy got us a referral to the Digestive Disease Center in Panama City next Tuesday. Our family doctor suspects something going on with the pancreas. She also has a dermatologist appointment the same morning and it is directly across the street from the early appointment. Can't beat that with a stick!
A town run today, mowing, nap and Wednesday evening church is on today's agenda.
Y'all have a great day.

Good morning. I'm heading up to the hospital to see Jane. We still don't know if she is coming home today or tomorrow. We are supposed to see the surgeon this morning and he will say today or tomorrow. If tomorrow, I'll spend the morning there, come home for an afternoon at the job and also picking up a riding law mower I bid on and won on a computer auction, and then heading back up to the hospital to spend the evening with Jane. If she is released today I'll just wait for her and work tomorrow and pick up the mower tomorrow at noon after I run home to make her lunch. I think I have all the bases covered. I even have the dished done and the bed made, well sort of, I even got new clean sheets on it. Jane's birthday is next week and we've been trying to figure out a cake she can eat and she will like. It looks like it's going to be ice cream cake. She's going to be 77 but don't tell anyone. The week after that on Sunday is our 56th wedding anniversary. I should get flowers. You should have seen the beautiful 21 year old lady I married on Moon day 56 years ago. A TV was on at the reception while everyone watched man step out unto the moon for the first time. I was watching Jane. Still am. I gotta go feed the chickens and get moving. Have a good Wednesday.____Dave
