Picked these up today. Had to get a knife actually called "STUBBY" (top)
And the other 3 look like Victorinox but they're by "ACE".

Scott, you suppose Victorinox made those knives for Ace Hardware? They sure look like Vic's. OH

I thought so until I looked closely at the tang stamp and it read: TAIWAN

Picked up this gorgeous Robeson steak knife set, made in Germany, today at a Yard Sale!

Wow fellas, nice knives! Scott those steak knives are making my mouth water! if I could only afford some steak......

Opted to go to a Flea market instead of my knife club today. Flea market was a total bust but an antique shop on the way home yielded these two, a Lakeside Cut. (Chicago circa 1920) for $18 and a 6375 Case 5 dot for $26. I'll get more than my money's worth picking the grime off these two. Both are covered with caulk or some type of adhesive but should clean up to a couple respectable knives.____Dave

While I was waiting for the picture to download on my SLOWWW computer, I cleaned the master blade of the Lakeside and found a full blade etch "LAKESIDE' that wasn't apparent through the grime. This gets more fun as it goes. ___Dave

Great finds Dave. That Lakeside cattle knife with a punch is cool, and rare. I don't recall seeing a cattle knife with a punch.

We slipped off for a couple of hours and visited a flea market today. I spent a grand total of $11 bucks and came home with 5 1/2 knives. I gave $6 for the 2 Victorinox knives, the Buck 309 that's missing the shield, the black thing and the 1/2 knife, an old Case without blades. After that I found another pile of junkers, they were $5 each. Over in the corner hidin' among the Pakistani lock backs was a beat up Buck 112, dinged up blade and split wood on the pile side. Bought it and moved on up the line. I found a guy that had the Kutmaster with the stainless handles, he came down to $20 and I asked about a swap. I hadn't seen one of these before, this one hasn't been sharpened, so I swapped the dinged up five dollar 112 for the Kutmaster. Looks like there's a possible candidate or two for the next POS Roundtable .

Hey Philip. How about the snap on that Victorinox Floral (the red one). God, I love those knives because of the sheepfoot blade and the strong snap both opening and closing. And when they're new, they are paper slicing sharp. That one alone is worth the six bucks. IMHO

I agree 100% Jerry, they have great snap and are great knives! I have acquired several of them in the last year, got the first on from Scott if I remember correctly. The chisel grind makes 'em easy to maintain, Miss Joy is supposed to have one in her garden bag. I wonder if she could find it ?

The NYK is rough, but I guess okay for what I paid for it. Just a neat old knife.

The Camillus 72 has some nice bone on it. I originally thought it was a frankenknife, but I have since seen other examples with that blade configuration.

The Kent is pretty decent. Black comp jigged covers, neat pattern.

Glenn, good looking "1st Generation" 72 (my name for them). That blade configuration was only made in 1946 and maybe a few in the first couple of months of 1947. How's the snap on that old gal? The bone looks great.

Glen I like the NYK Co. and also the 72. I have one that I think is 1946 they are just nice knives.
