That's a beauty, Tony

My French Broad will always hold a special place in my heart as it was the last knife Ivoryman gave me before he died. Here she is visiting with her Mud Creek cousin, Burl
[/quote]
'Q' ... that is very special, and to me also. Pretty sure Ivoryman got that one from me.
You jogged the memory, and I got this Wharnie out, acquired from the auction.
The IvoryMan bombs or auction purchased knives I have will always be with me.

Fifteen fantastic folders, Msteele!
Those are beautiful French Broad Jacks, CCC and Q.
Here are my three Wharncliffes from Frost.

Yes, that's what he told me.....he got it from you
Funny story, I actually gave him that CRKT Folt's Minimalist that you got in the Ivoryman auction

Small world
I'm so glad you joined AAPK when you did, Tony, so you could get to know him before he passed away. Although he was mainly a GEC man, once he discovered RoseCraft, thanks to you, he was pretty excited about them. Hence, the French Broad he sent me. He was definitely a man who recognized and appreciated a quality built knife

Great bunch of Wharnies posted here today!
Love those Wharncliffe Whittlers, msteele.
Great pics of that French Broad Jack & CRKT, Tony.
So many great Wharnies, Q! Your new 1st Run Tequila Sunrise 6207W is Beautiful!
Nice group of Wharncliffe Whittlers, Mel!
Here is a group shot of my Case 54W full size Wharncliffe Trappers.

It is a small world indeed 'Q'. The CRKT now has more meaning
I also have Ivoryman's CRKT clip blade version from the auction. Any history appreciated ... I will post it in Comfort Knives tomorrow.

You got all the best ones right there, Kevin

Of course, I'm sure you can probably guess which one is my favorite

it's literally the centerpiece of your 54W group
That one on the far left has the Italian Herringbone jigging I was telling you about that was on a Queen #51 I used to have. The bone on your Case 54W is a different color but the jigging looks identical. Do you happen to know what Case called that jigging?
Here's my only 54W, it had OD Green Canvas Micarta but I had BIGHEAD mod it with Natural Jade G-10 scales:

A couple more great Wharnies from your beautiful collection, Q!
I think Case refers to that as Crow's Feet Jigging, but I have always called it Italian jigging as well. Below is a link to Shepherd Hills Library that shows the different Case jigging styles.
BTW... I assume you remember I got that one from the Wharncliffe King of Napo'opo'o.

This week had a fine showing of Wharncliffes.
Case___________14
CRKT___________1
Frost___________3
Queen__________1
Rosecraft_______3
Indeterminate___19
By my calculation this is week 33 of Wharncliffe Wednesday. Not a single week has gone by without a set of posts. I guess that is a pretty good indicator of the level of interest in Wharncliffes, at least by a few of us. As of right now, 534 posts: 40635 views.

That's a pretty good run so far, I'd say

Let's keep it rolling for week 34.....
Last week I showed some red, orange, yellow Wharnies and this week I'm staying with the color theme but on the opposite end of the spectrum with some blue hued Wharnies

Nice show Q!
Does this qualify as a wharncliff or maybe a modified wharncliff? It's a Russian (USSR) folder made at the Kolpino plant in the Leningrad region.

Mahalo, Tim
I probably wouldn't call that a Wharncliffe, Charlie.....even "modified Wharncliffe" might be a bit of a stretch

But, it is a pretty interesting knife, nevertheless, and it's always nice to see such to compare and contrast

Thanks for posting it
Joe, love that beautiful old Empire

Appreciate how between you and Mel there are some "true" Wharncliffes being posted in this thread (by which I mean both frame and blade) keeping it real.
I don't know if Kevin's going to post any Wharnies today....although, I know he hasn't run out of Wharnies to post yet. While we're waiting for him to dazzle us with his next WW installment, here are a few more Wharns from my archives, blue and otherwise:

Q - As usual, those are some beautiful knives you have posted!
Charlie - I do not think that knife can qualify as a Wharncliffe, either frame or blade. But still nice to see. Thanks for posting!
Joe - that old Empire is a really nice survivor!
Here are four Wharncliffes from four companies. I have posted these before, but let's say that I am doing comparative blade etches today.

I did not know that there is a Wharncliff knife frame, I always thought that it is a blade pattern. I get to learn new stuff posting here, so enlighten me. If my wife was still with us she'd say SEE! You DON'T know it all!
