I have not seen that Bergans before. Is it a folder? I would love to see a pic of the whole knife.
The only Norwegian knives I have are all fixed blades.

No it is a fixed blade Dale.I just searched through ALL my photos of fixed blades and for some reason I don't have a full pic of that knife.I'll dig it out and take a couple.As I recall the sheath is a full one and is held together with that flat spiral wire like you see on heavily bound log books.It came out of an old collection a friend of mine bought for the military content and he sold most of the rest to me.

Definitey old and oscure.....no one knows who made it. 3.75 inch closed with super snap and Ivory handes. GR inside a circle stamp.

In the past few years, I have hoped to find a vintage saddlehorn. Obsidian Edge had posted a friend's beauty a few pages back. Bret & I went to a knife show in Dover, OH & were able to purchase one. In addition, Bret was able to snag a Remington R1306. The Remington was something Bret never thought we could get. It was a great day!

Very nice knives knifegirl. Lucky to find that 1306, poor storage almost ruined the etch on mine.

JKB, That's a great knife! Do you have any suggestions for proper storage of ours?

Mine was in a box with some Case Classics candy striped that had out gassed. Protecting the etch and still preserving the rest of the knife is pretty touchy. I will probably take mine to the Gator knife show next winter and let some body else decide on whether to clean the blade or enjoy the etch.

Two more beautiful knives

I wasn't sure just where to post this knife. So I finally thought this was the best place. It is stamped Bridge Cutlery St. Louis. Obviously it is an Office Knife. The reason I had to have this knife is due to the etched logo on the handle. Yes it is etched into the handle not just printed. If you look at Union Cutlery Company's logo prior to there relocation from Tidioute in 1911 to Olean, NY. it was an outline of North America with "The Union" in side of it. This logo did carry on for a short time into the Olean period but not very long. I cannot positively say where this knife was made, Tidioute or Olean, but I do know that Bridge Cutlery did not make knives, this was a name brand used by Shapleigh hardware. They had numerous brand names. (you've heard me say this before, most names stamped on the tang did NOT make the knife) You newbies need to write that down a hundred times. A nice addition to my collection.

So for obvious reasons I was anxious to see this knife up close. I find it interesting that the Union logo is on it. Typical knife guy, OMG, that's different I gotta have it

Good for you David.I look through a lot of old knives on ebay and at shows and I most likely would not have noticed.I normally don`t give office knives a look unless they have a blade etch.I may have to change my thinking.Roger

Picked up this. It is a ROLKA AND KLEIN, Which was a import co. in New York
Most information i found was they was a razor importer
1900- 1930
