The fourth one is the 75th anniversary Camillus BS knife......and no , I wasn't aware of the other 2 repros.

Johnnie, I hope you dodge this bullet. I hope you get some good knives.

I recently purchased a MIB 2010 Jamboree Bear and Sons 4 blade scout. Functionally I see no problems with it. Aesthetically, well... it is just not where I would like it to be. Clunky, is the word that comes up. I think it might be happier in someone else's home. I do think it is rare and may appreciate to the right buyer.

That's not what is generally called milled liners, but it seems to me there was a discussion some time back (maybe in this thread) about the purpose of those particular liners.

Well..I got the 3 Remington reproductions made by Bear today........I'm not impressed..and very glad I got a package deal.
Out of the three,the 2009 is the best quality.All blades have very good snap.....the only problem that I have with it is that the back springs are very rough to the touch...VERY POOR FINISH!!
The 2010 and 11 have the same problem but also neither have little to no snap at all on the can opener blade......overall quality..I would give them 3/5.

You're a very generous man, Mr. R. There are certainly issues that could only be rectified by a completely different approach to the manufacture of these knives but some may be taken care of by calling the factory and voicing your displeasure.

I purchased this Robeson made scout through an Ebay auction last week. It is marked:
GLOBE CUT. CO. / NEW YORK.

Goins dates this company 1921 - 1929. All Globe Cutlery Company, New York, knives that I've seen were made by Robeson. I've seen some German made knives marked Globe, but I don't know if that's the same firm.

This is a nice old knife and I got it for under $80.00, which was a really good price, I think.

The knife does not have a pattern number, but is a typical Robeson 642214 of the period. Terrier Cutlery knives are the only alternate brands by Robeson with pattern numbers.

I have an example of this knife, but it isn't quite this nice.

What is the closed length ?

I got a big ole knife roll with plenty of room in it for that one if the day ever comes.........

Charlie somehow that knife looked like it might have been smaller in the pictures. That's why I asked about the length.

Scout knives for me are a fairly new interest. In my youth it was Stockman and Barlow patterns that I carried when I wasn't carrying a Buck 110. It wasn't until I got older that I begun to appreciate the Scout knife patterns. And once I got my first few, it then became a pattern addiction......like so many others.

I only have a few that fall into the "Official" category, and all of mine are of more recent production. Haven't got into picking up the more classic pieces yet. So far this is what my addiction has made me acquire...........
