Some SRKs from Cold Steel. Good usable knives and not too expensive for the quality you get. My buddy MTC, lived in Alaska, Arizona, Wyoming, and Montana and loved the older Carbon V models for outdoor carry. A strong thick blade makes this model a real work horse. I have found some older used ones for sale for around $100. I think that's a good value for a SRK knife.

Nice bunch. I was looking at a Taiwan made of this model on ebay for $39. Do they even compare to these or are like most low end copies? Looks like a comfy handle.

I have one similar to the one in the link you posted. It's a good knife, similar to the Gerber Strongarm. The SRK has a 6" blade, and the SRK-C is a 5" blade.

Thanks a lot Ken, great side by side. Looks like a more comfy handle than the Gerber too. Appreciate the illustration and have a good one. Thanks again. ::tu:: ::handshake::

My all time favorite outdoor knife is this original Bush Ranger by CS with Carbon V steel.

Very solid looking knife, Garry.
I like the cross-cut handle, I have a few with that kind of handle.
It really must be your favorite, it's rare that you post more than 1 picture!

Joseph Rogers & Son skinner, very upswept blade and finger groove handle, I guess they thought thats what we Americans liked !
Well made and stout knife just don't think I'd like trying to skin something with it...

Geez that looks stout Bob! I like it, 'specially the blade grind.

Bob!
As soon as I saw your skinner it immediately reminded me of the CRKT "Ritual" Persian folding knife, the 2 knives could be brothers.
I'd have included a picture, but I don't know how to do that.
It also crossed my mind how difficult it would be to skin anything with your knife, but it does look well used.

Ken, the CS SRK is a classic. And I suppose the SRKc is a compact classic. In either case, they are fine knives.

I'm drawn to the stag Bowie, where'd that one come from?

Thank you Bob and Ken for your comments.

Ken, this Bowie was made by Hen & Rooster/ Solingen, Germany. The knife is weighted towards the blade which is typical of this style.
Excellent chopper.
