Now that looks like a lot of fun right there!Steve Warden wrote: ↑Fri Aug 21, 2020 2:38 pm Heading out to the range again today.
Ya know, it's probably a good thing for my wallet I can't step out my backdoor and shoot whenever I want! Remembering the hours and rounds I used to put through my Daisy Red Rider as a kid (yup, out the backdoor and shoot), if I was able to do that today, I'd go broke buying ammo.

That’s the ticket! More shooting.Steve Warden wrote: ↑Fri Aug 21, 2020 9:54 pm Had a great time! Only second time out with the Uberti. I am seeing a slight improvement in my shooting, but still could use A BUNCH of practice. Darn, I have to go shooting some more.

Question. Now that you've shot it a few times what do you think of Taylor's full checkered grips? I'm a while from getting what I want but that is something I'm undecided on. All my six guns to date have smooth grips. Ruger autos are checkered but not sure.Steve Warden wrote: ↑Fri Aug 21, 2020 9:54 pm Had a great time! Only second time out with the Uberti. Bill, I can’t speak to the 6 gun, but you mentioned the Ruger autos, those I can speak to. My commander 1911 came with checkered rosewood grips. They are absolutely beautiful. But I hate them. Carrying IWB (not a concern for your revolver) they’re like a cheese grater on your side. And I didn’t feel they gave much traction on recoil. I changed them out to hogue wrap arounds.thankgod4rkids wrote: ↑Sat Aug 22, 2020 12:44 amQuestion. Now that you've shot it a few times what do you think of Taylor's full checkered grips? I think I prefer the looks of smooth grips, but obviously checkered grips weren't a deal breaker for me.thankgod4rkids wrote: ↑Sat Aug 22, 2020 12:44 amQuestion. My old Mark II target was that way. I switched to a target thumbrest wood grip. I have the stock checkered black grips on my 22/45 and like them. Ruger SR is a softer rubber more like aftermarket grips. But I've never really felt I needed more grip on my sixes.Colonel26 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 22, 2020 12:54 amBill, I can’t speak to the 6 gun, but you mentioned the Ruger autos, those I can speak to. I never thought I’d want one of them black rifles either, blue and walnut is my game, and stainless ain’t bad neither. Until I shot one of my buddies AR rifles, it was a hoot and the most ergonomic rifle I’d shot.treefarmer wrote: ↑Tue Aug 25, 2020 12:41 amY'all keep showin' those evil black rifles and I'm about to get the fever for one.bestgear wrote: ↑Mon Aug 24, 2020 9:33 pm Just finished setting up one of the weapon walls in the shop where I work part-time....

I said before walnut and blue steel and I also remember sayin' something about wheel guns a few years ago and now I tote a plastic lookin' 9 under my shirt everyday. People do change, I'm guilty apparently.

Yep.... I shot a mountain of BBs through my Daisy. The one I completely wore out was a model 25 pump action rifle.....Steve Warden wrote: ↑Fri Aug 21, 2020 2:38 pm Heading out to the range again today.
