All About Pocket Knives

I am guilty of looking, but not posting. I don't always comment on people's knives, doesn't mean that I don't drool over them...

But thanks to everyone who DOES post pics, gives me chance to see a lot more knives than I would normally. You guys are also enabling my addiction, so thanks for that...

Oh yeah, Josh, nice hatchet! I also like the Anvil, I was always a fan of that knife, but I felt it could have been made a little better.

Might be a cool candidate for a mod!

Well here she is all cleaned up...spent a couple hours scrubbing and digging out gunk, and now she's all good to go. Snaps like a bear trap for sure and super stout, not even a hint of wobble! ...and there was no way I had any interest in losing that well earned patina, I think she wears her age well. (6 dot 1974 by the way)...

KEN - THAT IS A VIEW INTO THE HANDLE
it is a MARBLES SAFETY AXE..... it has a GUARD that fold into handle, and folds over blade edge when not in use

Bug, I got a couple of 2 bladed anvil jack knives,but them and the stockmans are the only patterns I've seen, and I've read the same thing about the collage kids designing them. I know one thing they feel good in your hand when you are making shavings out of a stick. Nice haul by the way

i also did a search = i seen 2 with diff tang stamp names (SHARP, COLONIAL) BUT HANDLES AND BLADE SHAPES LOOK SAME prolly just goofed and put wrong stamped main in frame

also seen: MOST have SS blades..... but a few with CARBON blades

I think 3, sm. med. and lg. I have med.& lg. I found the small knife in the middle of the street several year ago. the shield is missing but its a great little knife. I bid on one on ebay the other day that just had col.prov. usa. I have a stockman also, mine all have anvil on them ,all are carbon steel.

June bug , there several anvil knives on ebay for sale now,evidently they branded some small gents knives with the anvil logo. There are several beautiful custom knives for sale,made by Robert Paolantonio former co-owner of colonial knives.

Hopefully these go over bigger than my Remington finds my first Thornton,a mini Hammer Brand,a Harley,JD Zippo and a POW.

I've always liked those little Imperial/Hammer Brand mini easy opens I used to have a collection of them and regret selling it.

Nice looking old stockmen there Bugster, looks like a pair that belongs together! I have always had a soft spot for the Hammers especially, for inexpensive old knives they usually seem to hold up real well and remain tight and snappy

Ulster mother of pearl handled pen knife. Anyone have a guess to the year? 2-7/8" closed. Strange that the stamp fonts don't match on the blades.

DIGGIN THAT FRISCO UNIT

Found this old Utica today at rummage for $2.50 was a little crusty but cleaned up nice, and it is tight all the way around! The stamp on the blade is worn but says Utica Sportsman. Seems to me like the blade is SS. Measures about 8 1/2 " overall length. Anyone have an approx time frame on this one?

Nice finds fellers.That Utica cleaned up well.Mother and I hit the fleas on the way to Boothbay harbor.gut me a American knife co teardrop,a nice little Schrade Walden 218 and a Craftsman 9549.

The "Schrade Scrimshaw of the Great Outdoors" was new in 1979 There was a 500SC, 501SC, 503SC, 505SC, 506SC,and a 508SC..so it looks like you have all of them. Schrade Scrimshaw's are fairly common on Ebay. The last 508SC sold for $52 but didn't have the box. A 503SC with a box sold for $35. Over the years, Schrade added more patterns and changed the pictures on the models. The artwork was done by Frank Giorgianni. Hope this helps some
