All About Pocket Knives

Not too recently, this pocket knife arrived in a group or lot of pocket knives that I purchased. It now becomes my latest example to be posted under this topic or thread. I did NOT purchase the group or lot of pocket knives to obtain this particular pocket knife. However, it did turn out to be a keeper and it did get added to my general, "foreign born", pocket knife accumulation. It is a JAPAN, two blades, six tools (a can opener, a cap lifter or bottle opener, scissors, a punch or awl, a file and a corkscrew), 2 1/4" closed (not including the bail), "Disneyland", souvenir or tourist pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp says, "JAPAN" The shield says, "Disneyland - WALT DISNEY PRODUCTIONS" Overall, this pocket knife is in VERY GOOD condition. The blades and the tools did need a little cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.

Not too recently, these two pocket knives arrived in two separate groups or lots of pocket knives that I purchased. These two particular pocket knives were NOT the targets of my purchases. However, they both proved worthy enough to be added to my general, pocket knife accumulation. They are both SYRACUSE, both have one blade with a cap lifter or bottle opener, both have a corkscrew, both have one blade/tool stamp, both measure 2 7/8" closed, and both are the "bartender" pattern or style of pocket knife. Both main blade/tool stamps say, "SYRACUSE (over) KNIFE (over) CO. (over) USA" Both pocket knives are in GOOD condition. Both pocket knives needed little cleaning. I took some pictures and here they are.

It is a MADE IN FRANCE, two blades, one tool (a corkscrew), 3 1/2 " closed ( not including the bail), main blade etch or etches, one tang stamp, all metal, pocket knife. The main blade front etch or etches say, "Bijoulux - INOX" The main blade front tang stamp says, "MADE IN (over) FRANCE" Overall, this pocket knife is in EXCELLENT condition. Cleaning it was NOT necessary. I just wiped it off. I took some pictures and here it is.

Not too recently, this multi tool pocket knife arrived in a group or lot of pocket knives that I purchased. It now becomes my latest example to be posted under this topic or thread. This particular multi tool pocket knife was NOT the target of my purchase. However, it did end up being added to my general, "foreign born" pocket knife accumulation. It is a MIKOV, two blades, four tools (a cap lifter or bottle opener, a can opener, a punch or awl and a corkscrew), two tang stamps, 3 5/8" closed, all metal, multi tool, pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp says, "MIKOV (inside a rectangle) (over) ANTICORRO" The main blade back tang stamp says, "CZECHO (over) SLOVAKIA" The main blade does have a SOFT half stop. The main blade does have a NASTY opening snap. The main blade does have a NASTY closing snap. The secondary blade also has a SOFT half stop. The secondary blade has a SOFT opening snap. The secondary blade has a SOFT closing snap. The four tools ALL open, close, and function properly. This pocket knife came with a vinyl slip cover marked MIKOV. This pocket knife is in EXCELLENT+ condition. NO cleaning was needed. I just wiped it off. I took some pictures and here it is.

I have this same knife w/o Disney logo, I got when I was a punk kid back in the 80's at a flea market. I still have it, it was sort of considered a "China" quality knife back then but now it is seen in a different light. A cool knife I took it camping back when I was a kid. I have moved to 5 different states and somehow I still have .... go figure

But, it did end up being added to my general, "foreign born" pocket knife accumulation. It is an ITALY, one blade, two tools (a cap lifter or bottle opener and a corkscrew), one tool "maker" stamp, 4 1/2" closed, bartender, sommelier, etc., style of pocket knife or tool. The "maker" stamp is on the top of the cap lifter or bottle opener and says "E. B. (over) ITALY" The handles are black in color. It is in VERY GOOD condition. It did NOT require any cleaning at all. I just wiped it off. I took some pictures and here it is.

Here's my Victorinox Wine Master. This is a purpose built knife that does a great job of removing bottle foils and then the cork via a two stage lift. The master blade came scary sharp, apparently honed by the seller who did a great job. This knife and corkscrew were a gift and I get great enjoyment using it. The scales are walnut.

However, it did end up being added to my general, "foreign born" pocket knife accumulation. It is an ITALY, one blade, two tools (a cap lifter or bottle opener and a corkscrew), one tool "maker" stamp, 4 1/2" closed, bartender, sommelier, etc., style of pocket knife or tool. The "maker" stamp is on the top of the cap lifter or bottle opener and says "FRANMARA (over) ITALY" The handles are burgundy in color. It is in VERY GOOD condition. It did NOT need any cleaning at all. I just wiped it off. I took some pictures and here it is.

It is a Richards, one blade/tool (a cap lifter or bottle opener), one separate tool (a corkscrew), one blade/tool stamp, 2 3/4" closed, multi tool, pocket knife. The blade/tool front stamp says, "Richards (written) (over) SHEFFIELD (over) ENGLAND" with the lit lamppost in the center. Overall, this pocket knife is in GOOD condition. It did require a VERY minor cleaning.

Not too recently (2019), I obtained this multi tool, scouting or camping, pattern or style of pocket knife. It now becomes my latest example to be posted under this topic or thread. It is an IMPERIAL, HECHO EN MEXICO, one blade, four tools (a cap lifter or bottle opener, a can opener, a punch or awl, and a corkscrew), one tang stamp, 3 3/4" closed (not including the bail), multi tool, scouting or camping, pattern or style of pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp says, "IMPERIAL (over) HECHO EN (over) MEXICO" It came with a very nice leather sheath.

This morning, my trip to the post office produced this "Deer Foot" pocket knife. This is my first pocket knife, in this "Deer Foot" pattern or style, to be posted under this topic or thread. Actually, it is my FIRST and ONLY (so far) "Deer Foot" pocket knife. It is a JOSEPH HOLLINGER, one blade, one tool (a corkscrew), two tang stamps, 4 5/8" closed, a lanyard hole, "Deer Foot" pattern or style of pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp says, "JOSEPH (over) HOLLINGER" The main blade back tang stamp says, "CECHO (over) SLOWAKIA" The main blade does NOT have a half stop. The main blade does have a VERY GOOD opening snap. The main blade does have a VERY GOOD closing snap. The corkscrew opens and closes with NO problems. Overall, this pocket knife is in VERY GOOD condition. I just cleaned up the blade a little bit.

It also became the second "Deer Foot" example to join my general, pocket knife accumulation. It is an ERNST ROMMERSWINKEL, one blade, one tool (a corkscrew), two tang stamps, 5 3/8" closed, lever lock, "Deer Foot" pattern or style of pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp (football shaped) says, "ERNST ROMMERSWINKEL (over) SOLINGEN GERMANY" with "ERO" in the center. The main blade back tang stamp says, "MADE IN (over) GERMANY" My other "Deer Foot" pocket knife was posted, under this topic or thread, back on Friday, August 2, 2024. This main blade does NOT have a half stop. This main blade does have a VERY GOOD opening snap. This main blade does have a VERY GOOD closing snap. The corkscrew opens and closes with NO problems. Overall, this pocket knife is in EXCELLENT condition. I just cleaned up the blade a little bit. I took some pictures and here it is.

Very recently, my visit to the post office produced this "Deer Head", multi tool pocket knife. It now becomes my most recent example to be posted under this topic or thread. It also became the latest example to be added to my collection. It is a MADE IN GERMANY, one blade, four tools (a can opener, a cap lifter or bottle opener, a punch or awl and a corkscrew), one tang stamp, 3 1/2" closed (not including the bail), multi tool, "Deer Head" pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp says, "MADE IN (over) GERMANY" The main blade does have a WEAK half stop. The main blade does have an OK opening snap. The main blade does NOT have a closing snap. The four tools ALL open and close properly, as designed, with no problems at all. This pocket knife is in GOOD condition. It needed VERY little cleaning. I bought this AFTER I posted its fellow "Deer Heads", under this topic or thread, back on Friday, July 5, 2024. I took some pictures and here it is.
