Moore Maker offered one until a couple years back. It was under $100, and I regret not getting one.

Thinking it was made by Camillus using the Western tooling--correct?

I would have thrown it in with Western knives.

Remington Elite Hunter Drop Point Folder, made in Italy. I am tied between Maserin or Fox as being the likely contractor.

It opens quick without any "assist" or bearings, and has enough of a cutout to where releasing the linerlock with my gloves on working isn't a problem.



It can take it, no matter what the job is. The blade is 3mm thick. 440C holds an edge longer, and is slightly tougher than 440A or 420HC (or especially 8Cr13MOV found on the cheap imports). But, I will say the Italians harden it to where it's slightly more brittle than American 440C on say old Bucks. I recommend a belt sheath (as it opens pretty easily), but it's really light and slim for such a big (5" closed) knife.

These were pretty pricey when new. I got mine for $40 off eBay 3-4 years ago. They had a model with an added one-hand opening saw (as well as a third with a gutting hook), but I haven't been able to source it.

Two from Noble Outfitters, a clothing company based in Modesto, CA. Their sister company, First Tactical (who sells police uniforms) puts out considerably better knives.

Back in my late teens, I had a crush on the models they used. That's because they weren't models, but are actual equestrians. Not to mention, VERY attractive.

They rebranded a couple of years back, splitting the company between Noble Outfitters (mostly workwear ala Carhartt or Berne) and Noble Equine (mostly horse-riding stuff); with the latter becoming only sold through Dover Saddlery (the main tack catalog I got as a kid back when I rode English). The knives were discontinued and I picked them up later, usually on sale. The Hunter and Viper are usually on sale for under $15, and I recommend them. They're not bad knives, even with my tastes.


The 4 Aces was one of the inital knives they offered way back in 2014. It was not produced over a year from what I've been able to research. Black G-10 handles and a semi-Wharncliffe blade. The serrations are probably why they discontinued it--they don't cut hot butter. I picked this one up used a couple years ago from a guy on another forum.

Fits my hand well, and I like the blade shape. BUT, the serrations render it a POS. And the clip looks like something from Frost....


Guessing they learned from their mistakes later on as it was soon replaced by the Hunter and Viper.


I really like the Hunter and Viper. The Hunter was the PE version, and the Viper packed a combo edge. The Viper had some pretty effeminate handle combos, and the Hunter was the only one in bright orange. Noble's knife range was never popular, and many tack retailers still have them in stock, and quite often heavily discounted.

Despite the name, it's not a big knife. Only 3 5/8 closed. It's big enough for most jobs, while not being a tank on the pocket.

Deep-carry clip also.

Here's another "Classic" that I'm sure many of you guys have at home.
Got this one off a guy named Günther that I used to work with. He was a mechanic that had worked for the US ARMY for many years. At first in Bad Kissingen (late 80's - early 90's) & then after it closed down he went on to work for them in Schweinfurt (90's) untill it too finally closed down. I was stationed in yet another place called Wildflecken. It also closed around 1993-1994. When I told him that I collected pocket knives he said "Oh, I have one you might like." Traded him a Roper Sand Viper Stockman knife 4 it.

Well no actually, the whole story is..., Günther offered me this one for a $5 lunch. Which I jumped on the chance at one of these. Then I gave him a new Roper Stockman the next day cause I felt like I had cheated him on the original deal. He was very pleased with his new Roper Stockman & so was I with my old millitary issue Camillus.

So me and Günther and this Camillus all served in the U.S. Armed Forces Germany. And my guess is, the Camillus had more service time than me & Günther both put together.

Both blades have 1/2 stops. Electrician blade has a Liner Lock.

Here's one you don't see every day. I recieved it from Stan Wade (Ryan in PA).
This one would be a real good EDC but I don't want the "DE" to wear off of it any more than it already has so I keep it in my showcase.
