Awesome country.

366 days ago (remember Leap Year), we visited the Cliffs of Mohr and Galway. When we started the day it was foggy but luckily the fog lifted. I was one of the few to hike both ends of the cliffs. The wind at the North end was almost strong enough to trigger the panic button. We had an excellent duck wing lunch in Galway.

Our last day in Ireland- we started off by touring the Tullamore D.E.W. Distillery and then headed to Cabra Castle in Kingscourt. This was the only day it rained all day, which is a feat for over a week in Ireland. We had a group fairwell dinner where we thanked our tour guide and the bus driver.

Then I proposed to Brenda, luckily she said yes.

I noticed in the picture of the fox you posted Saturday, there appears to be a small meat grinder on the shelf above his head. The details of pictures are always fun to examine.
Also noticed there are no masks on anyone's face in the street pictures from yesterday.

Thanks, tree! This is actually an anniversary post of the trip we did last year to the day(s). Right about now we were getting ready to wake up, board our bus to the airport and fly back the the U.S. (6 hour time difference).

That fox has a double barrel slung over his shoulder, in case you missed it. There are interesting details in every picture, I only wish my Famine Village ruins pictures turned out better. Some of the pictures were taken through our tour bus window, but the best are from when we were out hiking around and exploring.

It was one of those life changing trips that we will never forget. If you didn't know this, we got engaged today a year ago and are getting married this coming Saturday.

Two years ago today, and almost at this exact time, I was in Dublin eating fish & chips with my soon to be fianceé (now wife). It paired well with a Guinness, my how time flys . . .

I missed this post originally John, so I'm glad you resurrected it today so I can extend my best wishes and congratulations on your recent marriage. At 52(now 54)I'm sure you've learned all the things to do and not to do in a partnership, so it should be smooth sailing going forward from here. I read all 4 pages of your post, and saw all the teriffic pictures of Ireland you shot, absolutely stunning, thank you!

Thanks, Mark, and enjoy the pictures. But pictures do not do that place justice. It's really gorgeous there, rain or shine.

I'm sure that's a fact John. I use to work with a fella that fled Ireland with his family to escape the IRA, and he was constantly telling us how beautiful his country was. Would love to see it someday!
