Here is an Electric Cut Co. Jack with well worn reddish jigged bone handles. The ebony handled one I had and in fact posted about on this thread some time back. Both are tang stamped Newark, NJ and as such were produced sometime between 1890 and 1910. After 1910 they moved to Walden NY and were so marked. I believe the bone handled one is earlier. Both are large Jacks at 3 & 3/4 inches closed. Besides different handle materials the tang stamps are different on the secondary blades, the nail marks or pulls are different, the shape of the tangs are different on the secondary blades and the shields although similar are dimensionally different. These Newark, NJ marked Electrics are scarce and hard to find so I am pleased to add this one to the collection. Thanks for looking!

Those are two beautiful knives and in great condition. Congratulations lloyd.
Thank you for the tang stamp information. I indicated two different locations in my initial post but I didn't add dates.
Thank you for upgrading the thread.

Here’s the start of the Electric Cut Co. Knives that have landed here . The old POS Congress is about done for ,came in a pile of trade stuff a year or so ago . It got the curiosity going so been reading and getting a grasp of the Company and there history . If anyone can recommend a good source or book for Electric Cut Co please let me know. The Electric with the Walden stamp just purchased from Mike ( galvanic 1882 ) . Nice solid piece ,great condition . The bone is hardly worn and impressed with the knife as a whole.
Stay safe out there .

After reviewing these threads, this one and the one Gregg posted, I regret starting the one in July, 2019.
I prefer using older threads but somehow the original thread got past me.
Dennis has a good thread going there. Sorry about that.

No worries Joe there are numerous threads here that contain info on these Electric knives . The Friedmann & Lauterjung thread, Americas Little Sheffield and others. They all show up in an advanced search.

Now there's a couple of really clean examples.
I like the bones and I like the overall condition of them. Nice catch, Ike.

Gotta love those old Electric’s and with an etch! Very cool! Interesting thing is on the bigger knife the pins seem to be brass and steel? Are the liners steel?
