It looks like the bar shield is larger on the " widebody" knives.

Correct! Bar shield is 2 millimeters longer on the widebody frames.

Grant Cunningham ground the blade blank for the Scagel blade style grinding competition 2025. Then the competitors have one year to complete the rest of the knife to be judged a year later as a finished knife. And then the highest scoring display picks from the completed knives first in 2026. Makes the displayers really compeat for the best educational and most valuable display.
