Thanks to all who have posted. I love looking at all the variations of beautiful Rogers Bone handles.

Here's a couple of my Pals that I got from a couple of my pals here at AAPK.

Phil, I think we need to count your knives. If you have that many knives with Rogers Bone, I wonder what the total count would be. I would venture to say that you don't know, lol.

These two are photos that AAPK member Carrmillus sent me and asked me to scan and post. They are a pair of Camillus four line stamped Sunfish sporting some gorgeous Rogers Bone handles. Left click on the photos for a better view.

Here's a great four line Camillus Hobo Knife in Rogers Bone. It's also one from the Carrmillus collection.

One I'm fairly sure is Rogers is this supposed Remington I had. I sent it back because it had the wrong number and pruning blade. Wish I would have kept it for posterity's sake.

That's a great looking knife Lyle. I'd have had a hard time sending it anywhere.

Here's another one from the Carrmillus group, a nice half whittler (two blade whittler) with Rogers Bone scales. Left click to see it better.

Here is a Pal Blade Co that I don't believe has ever been used or carried.
This is a different look at Rogers bone to see it without any of the pocket where we normally see on it.
The color is much darker than we're used to seeing and the jigging is very sharp and distinct because it is not worn down.

How about this purdy Remington.

I've got a few more from Carrmillus to show you folks.

Here's a Camillus 4 line Cattlemans knife. It has three backsprings according to its owner.

Here's a pair of Camillus 4 liine hunting knives that are both 7 1/2 in overall.

And a Camillus Whittler that measures 3 5/8 in. closed. There's are also, as you may have guessed by now, from the collection of AAPK member Carrmillus.

It was brought to my attention that this nice old Thomaston Knife Co. would fit in here.

Thomaston knife was in business from 1887 to 1920.

Joe, all I got to say about that Thomaston is, I'm sure glad the Good Book doesn't say anything about coveting thy neighbor's knife, cuz I'd be sinning for sure!

I've always liked those bone handle sheath knives Philco, very cool and most seem pretty old.

And that Thomaston is something else, definitely not your everyday find, nice!

It was recommended that I add this muskrat, I believe it to be late rogers, brown bone, burnt brown bone are the colors I have heard it called.

If anyone else has an opinion on the bone please share.

I've also had some collectors say its just plain ol bone.

I'm glad this thread got revived.... It gave me a good chance to read through it and to see examples posted... and thanks to Jerry for posting the BRL article as well... In my opinion Rogers Bone (and in general terms only based on my experience) had lighter ends and a more reddish brown tan darker interior (for lack of better word for center of scale or cover)... But I have come to learn that many call all this bone Rogers Bone - is it all Rogers Bone? - only definitive for me would be if the company making the knife no doubt had records that the bone was from the Rogers Bone Co (or vice versa) ... Importantly Rogers Bone was not the only company around at that time selling bone - I would guess there are many companies that made knife bone handles - Importantly if I am not mistaken I saw 2 others ads in a 1922 American Cutlers Journal for 2 other companies from CT that also marketed bone scales (and maybe even stag) - though as many of you know some called jigged bone "stag" - and the BRL article posted by Jerry earlier in this thread refers to this in terms of jigged Rogers Bone being marketed and called by Roger Bone Co stag (hey Lyle - remember when we had this discussion in another thread - so you were absolutely right and BRL notes that some bone was jigged before being sent to the cutlery - so the question again is what cutleries that prepared bone was sent to ??? ... yeah I am grinning Lyle and ..... Now I know why my Empire Bullhead recently posted was noted as stag scales in the Empire catalog cut that Beechtree kindly posted for me (thanks again Beechtree!) - - is this Rogers bone made for Empire called stag by Rogers or Empire?? Obviously not real stag on this Empire - so did they call it stag in the ad or was it from a company (Rogers) calling it stag? Just thinking and sharing for discussion - these discussions are half the fun for me so hope you guys don't mind.... and no doubt in topic for this thread...

Anyway - the first is my Camillus 72 that no doubt has Rogers Bone from my understanding... in addition at least to me this is the classic look of Rogers Bone... Did all Rogers Bone look the same?? I have no clue - but I think not as they weren't exactly cloning the source of the bone... and the other the Empire Bullhead which again was called stag - so I think to the best of my knowledge these were Rogers Bone - bit of a different look though...
