This thread keeps getting better and better! Roger, what do you know about the North America shield? I always figured it was used in the transition to Olean, but I am just guessing.

Brett I really don`t know. That could be a possibility,but the bone on this doesn`t seem to fit the period.But I`ve seen Union toes in so many different handle materials,Different jigs of bone,ebony,several colors of celluloids what does fit the period.David Anthony would be better qualified to answer that.I do know the North American and Union Cut.Tidioute marks are the hardest to find.Roger

Here are some of my best KA-BAR hunting knives. I am new here, but known by some of you for my affinity for old fixed blade knives, especially those made prior to WW2 by Union Cut Co. Trying to figure out photo posting, I'll post more when I get it down.

I'm learning!! Here's a few more, I'll take more photos tomorrow in the daylight, I have many models of KA-BAR hunting knives few have seen. One thing I can't figure out--can one select more than one photo at a time to upload?? I so far have had to upload one, go back to browse, and repeat for each photo. This is extremely time consuming. I am using a Mac, and on some other (not knife) forums I am able to select a bunch of photos from my album and upload them all at once. I think you'll like the knives, and any info on uploading more than one photo will be appreciated.

Hi Dimitri, I'm the guy with the Miller Bros. "Carter's Skinning knife" that was posted here a couple of years back and we talked once on the phone regarding it. That's just a ruler, 'nuff said.

Do you have any folders in your collection?

Regarding the picture uploading, as far as I know it has to be done one at a time, up to 10 images per post.

I am planning on being there. I will bring to 2 NY Knives that I just picked up to show you. I posted them in the thread for NY Knife Co.

P was not that bad he actually gave me some money at the show!!!!

Here's an odd one, six blades, red handles, only main blade marked, but both cutting blades have "matchstriker" or dentate long pulls. Only one I have seen. A butterfly, sweet near mint stainless four blade utility, and a KA-BAR lockback coke. The one I previously posted is a Union with the North America mark. More to come as I dig them out.

Here is a fairly uncommon Union Cut. Dog Head model with a spring fired swivel lever type action.

Thanks and Yes. It is believed that Aerial purchased the frames from Union Cut. and handled them in celluloid with "A. C. Mfg. Co." stamped on the blade. These model were re-produced many decades later which still causes many controversies.

Thank you and the modern Aerial models like yours are very well made knives and nearly identical to the originals.
Your Schrade model is also very nice.
