Here's another UNITED Cutlery Works, Germany BOY'S EASY OPENER that had quite a bit of rust in it but that's all gone now.
Was able to bring the snap back but it has a very lose blade in the open position. Any suggestions on how to fix this? I did try to tighten it but to no avail.

Here's an ULSTER KNIFE CO. XL N.Y. boys knife I got off ebay last week. Great walk and talk and some blade wear but still took an edge.

Here is Schatt & Morgan's boy's knife as shown in their 1903 catalog and the real thing.

I picked up these two Ulster salesman samples at the Dalton show this past weekend. Totally unexpected to find these there.

Here's one that I've had for several years that I would consider a "Boy's Knife". United Cutlery Co. Germany. Very solid little knife.

Very very nice Murph and David! ::tu:: ::tu:: You just about have to go to a knife show or swap to find these with their chains still attached.

That is the first Barlow I have seen in a boy's pattern. They must be rare. Nice one.

Thanks David, only one I have seen.

You would think the Barlow pattern being inexpensive and a popular pattern in it`s day there would be more of them.

No, it's been pretty slim picking on these. I have probably 3 to 4 examples right now. Like yours, with the writing embossed on the metal handle.

Yeah, it runs in cycles sometimes they turn up for sale all at once and other times there are none ::shrug::

The metal handle ones are nice with the different embossing but I would like to find a jigged bone handle one! :)

There have been a few Dormant threads resurrected lately, so i thought this one should be given some oxygen, it hasn't seen the light of day for 7 years. For such a popular style that i am sure many of you would have had as your first knife, it is amazing how some of these threads get forgotten in the wash. These knives were just simplicity in all their glory, usually one blade with simple covers, hope to see some of yours see the light of day again " Boys and Girls ". ::tu::

Here are a few and a small Barlow that I guess you could call a boy's knife.Compared to an Old Timer. The one with the chain is an H.Boker & Sons from around 1915
