Maybe I'm mistaken, but it's my understanding that the barlows are SFO's for Charlie and he will be the only distributor. The boys knife is a GEC release and by the way, the red peachseed bone is very cool. The price has been kept down due to all steel construction and lack of shield, but the quality is still there. So if you want a boys knife, they'll be here very soon, but if you want the barlow(s), talk to Charlie! :D

True. You are not mistaken. The Barlows are an SFO for Charlie but he and Mike Latham made a deal so that Mike got a small number for his CK customers.

Re: the mix-up around the Barlow release;
There was some confusion about which handles the Barlows would have in the two blade version.
I take all the responsibility. Mike Latham will have his shipment in a few more days, although it will be different than he first thought. He will have the same knives that I have.
Plus, he has the Huckleberries, which I do not have!
Left to right:
Copperhead single blade
Antique Yellow two blade
Antique Amber (tan) one blade
Ebony one blade

Charlie, I am tickled pink to see the Antique Yellow two blade made it through, 'cause that's the one I want. ::ds::

Sorry to hear about the others. Sometimes life has a way of biting you right on the tuchus.

jerryd6818 wrote:According to M.L. there has been a hold up on the release and shipping of the #15 Sawyer Barlow. Something about production problems and all the handle materials may not make it out the door. (my interruption of what was said) Stand by to stand by.
As Charlie mentioned, there is not a delay in the release or delivery, only some confusion on what would be available. I made a couple of bad assumptions on my part as I am accustomed to GEC practices of make similar one blade and two blade runs. Charlie has been very accommodating on the allocation of not only this pattern, but previous patterns.

The pattern, both with and without end caps, seems to be a very nostalgic and smooth old pattern. I have been very impressed with the Huckleberry I have handled thus far (haven't handled a Sawyer yet).

Thanks Barry! Bill and I agree, the mechanics and the aesthetics both really hit the mark!
We talked for months developing this one. I am sure Bill would like me to go away for a while! ::tounge::

Went up on the GEC web site this morning. Relax, the 3" closed length is an error. I called GEC and the lady that answered the phone (Christine Tucker?) had a #15 on her desk. She measured it and said it's, "just shy of 3-1/2"".

Would I be correct in assuming that these will have half stops?

Mine arrived yesterday, it's a beautiful Barlow. I'd always hoped GEC would make a traditional Barlow, thank you Charlie! ::ds::
